Beginning her article over at the Resurgent with the words “It’s not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need,” former FP writer here at Redstate Susan Wright seemed to go over the top with her take on Justin Amash’s recent tweet that President Trump is guilty of obstruction… or something.  She goes on to at times describing Amash as perhaps more libertarian than Republican, then takes a dig at Devin Nunes and Matt Goetz, two real conservatives who have not been afraid to call the last two years a hoax perpetrated on the public, by citing Liberty Scores from Conservative Review.  This writer, for one, is always leery of scores from special interest groups and so-called conservative publications and websites.  I prefer to do my own research on anyone’s positions on any issues.  But, if Ms. Wright wishes to rely upon the Conservative Review, that is her prerogative.

Those of us who have been at this website for many years (in one incarnation or another, I go back to 2008), are familiar with the derangement of Susan Wright and certain others here.  In her article titled, “Republican Lawmaker Bucks Party on Findings of Mueller Report (And its BIG),” Wright states, as if expert on the subject:

As it is, Amash, who entered Congress as a Tea Party conservative in 2010 is up for reelection in 2020, and maybe the time feels right to go for it.

Newsflash: every Congressman is up for reelection in an even-numbered year.  It says so in the Constitution that every two years members of the House are up for reelection.  Making a statement as he did hardly takes courage knowing he is up for reelection.  Guess what?  Your Congressman and my Congressman are up for reelection in 2020, and 2022, and 2024…

To Wright and others in the Never Trump camp who still cannot get over the fact their preferred candidate lost in 2016 (she was for the befuddled Rick Perry who could not even name a department he would abolish), the Mueller report is proof-positive that although there was no collusion, there was obstruction of justice.  Like Justin Amash, she cannot make a lucid argument or cite an example of obstruction other than she knows Trump did it and now William Barr is his new fixer (her words, not mine).

She then goes on to quote Amash:

Here are my principal conclusions: 1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report. 2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct. 3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances. 4. Few members of Congress have read the report,” Amash wrote Saturday afternoon.

“Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment,” the Michigan Republican continued. “Mueller’s report identifies multiple examples of conduct satisfying all the elements of obstruction of justice, and undoubtedly any person who is not the president of the United States would be indicted based on such evidence.”

She follows up with this comment: “That sound you hear is – BOOM!”  Actually that sound you hear is THUD.  Like so many bombshell revelations proffered by Wright here at Redstate and now elsewhere, putting headlines in big letters and using onomatopoeia  does not make your case any stronger.

She follows up this article in typical Trump-bashing style with another suggesting that Amash may not be alone in his thoughts (Title of article: “Justin Amash May Not Be Alone in His Opinion About Impeachment”).  Again, she uses this opportunity of digital ink to trash Nunes and Gaetz, extol the virtues of Liberty Scores and deliver her little zingers as only she can.  Except she offers no proof other than she just knows it… because Trump.

Except for one very important detail she overlooked while here and now at another website: she has been wrong when it comes to Trump on everything ever uttered from her deranged fingertips.  No doubt, people like her which includes the majority of the mainstream media drooled uncontrollably when Amash delivered his tweet.  Finally, they had a so-called conservative agreeing with them.  That is one single person.  Today, that counts as bipartisanship.

No doubt, when Justin Amash faces a primary challenge and loses, Wright and others will be there with suggestions of Russian collusion, obstruction, and what have you.  Wright and her ilk still believe that Trump are Russian agents despite the findings of St. Mueller’s report.  In fact, she wrote this: “…there’s been very little difference between how Trump acts and how a Russian asset would behave.”  Really?  Standing steadfast against the Russians in Syria, extended sanctions on Russia, and providing lethal aid to opponents of Russian aggression in the Ukraine makes Trump a Russian agent?

What Wright and others fail to realize is that Trump is unlike any politician they are used to in the past for one simple reason: he is not a politician.   Undoubtedly when she awakens in early November 2020 and realizes another four years of Trump, the derangement will go into overdrive.  And while the newest Resistance/Never Trump hero du jour, Justin Amash, finds himself unemployed courtesy of the constituents of the district he represents who actually view him as a necessary evil and not much more, we should be ready with a morning Bloody Mary to assuage the deranged.

We should pity her and her kindred spirits.  This is what so pisses me off about the Never Trump contingent.  Even when objective facts slap you in the face, you remain steadfast in your hatred because of your alleged principles.  If Wright and others can name one policy with which they disagree with Trump, then do so.  I think they will find they discover themselves more closely aligned with Nancy Pelosi than any conservative or Republican.  Parroting Democratic talking points does not make you a leader nor a maverick.  It makes you a fool.

Incidentally, as a so-called conservative, Liberty University should reconsider their degree conferred upon Ms. Wright.
