I would ordinarily offer THIS story with a title of “Offered without Comment” but I have a couple I must present for consideration:
Iran is now a ‘nuclear state’, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced this morning.
He spoke as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
There are fears of violence as opposition and pro-government supporters are expected to meet at rallies in a show of popular strength unmatched since the revolution itself.
Today Ahmadinejad told scores of cheering Iranians that the Islamic Republic is capable of producing weapons-grade uranium.
The UN, the IAEA, and the Security Council…alongside the United States and her allies…have failed the international community once again; a really really bad player has been allowed on to the field solely because there was not enough collective courage to stand up against him. Now, a nation filled with lunatics willing to blow themselves up in the name of some greater cause, has the ability to have really really BIG bombs to serve their twisted notion of greatness.
Have no fear my friends, the lunatic-in-chief assures us he means no ill will toward is fellow man:
The Iranian leader insisted the material was not intended to produce an atomic bomb, however.
‘We have the capability to enrich uranium more than 20 percent or 80 percent (the level needed to create an atomic bomb),’ he said in a speech broadcast live on state television.
‘But we don’t enrich (to this level) because we don’t need it…
He goes on to assure us that, if he actually wanted to make a bomb, he would tell us ahead of time:
‘When we say we do not manufacture the bomb, we mean it, and we do not believe in manufacturing a bomb,’ he told the crowd. ‘If we wanted to manufacture a bomb we would announce it.’
Of course he would announce it ahead of time, as he has done with such issues as Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, incursions into Iraq, etc… and if you believe that, I have a bridge you might be interested in.
Don’t blink-Israel read these headlines today as well.
