No! Any type of legal status, “temporary” or permanent, should not be granted before enforcement and securing the border
They continue to try to fool us
I’ll make this diary short and sweet. Dan Horowitz has done a great job of explaining the latest attempt to put lipstick on the Gang of 8 immigration pig in the Corker-Hoeven amendment. What angers me is the way these stupid Senators try to deceive us with their faux border security amendments and then try to announce the “breakthrough” with trumpets and press conferences. What really angers me is how badly a bright presidential prospect, Marco Rubio, got naivelly sucked in and has been politically damaged by Schumer, McCain, and Graham. Kelly Ayotte fell for it as well. I have to hand it the Democrats. It was a good political maneuver designed to divide and destroy the GOP prospects for the 2014 mid-terms. But I expect the GOP to be better at being conscious of these tactics being played against them. I guess the good thing that has come out of this is that, assuming any type of legalization first legislation doesn’t pass, no immigration legislation should pass unless the government proves they enforce our existing immigration laws and secure the border. As Horowitz rightly pointed out, do you really expect the Obama Administration to enforce and uphold the laws in place?
Ok, enough of that. Now for something nice. I saw this Politico article this morning and the temper tantrum the writers have in regards to how the House is proceeding and the Gang of 8 bill doesn’t stand a chance. The article will really make you laugh. But these lines caught my eye:
Forget Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) — boldfaced conservatives who helped craft the Senate’s bill…
But the truth is most House Republicans don’t care. They view the Senate — and their colleagues, including Republicans — with intense distrust.
I love it when articles from left wing rag writers from Political drip with such fretting petulance. Have a great day Redstaters!
