As a businessman and private citizen, Donald Trump often expressed his belief that global warming wasn’t real and that the entire concept was a hoax perpetrated on the American people—once going so far as to say it was created by the Chinese to destroy US manufacturing.

In fact, beginning in 2011 and continuing through his 2016 campaign, Trump expressed his feelings on the global warming hoax 115 times on his Twitter account alone.

However, after becoming president, Trump’s attitude changed as he allowed his daughter Ivanka to dictate global warming policy for the White House in the days leading up to Trump’s June announcement that he was withdrawing the US from the Paris Climate Agreement.

About a month before Trump’s Paris announcement, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson—a supporter of the Paris Climate Agreement—helped Ivanka’s cause when he signed a global warming agreement known as the Fairbanks Declaration. This declaration reinforces the Paris Climate Agreement, stating that participants concluded their meeting by “noting the entry into force the Paris agreement on climate change and its implementation…”

With yesterday’s opening session of the 23rd meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP23) to the UN Convention on Climate Change—a meeting that has as its primary objective the implementation of the Paris agreement—it looks like Ivanka’s leftist agenda is still on track.

Following the release of a diplomatic cable from Secretary of State Tillerson suggesting that the US has no clear climate policy, Trigg Talley, the US Deputy Special Envoy for Climate Change—yes, we really have one—assured COP23 delegates on opening day of the talks held in Bonn, Germany that the US is still all about the Paris agreement.

“We will continue to participate in international climate change negotiations and meetings, including ongoing negotiations related to guidance for implementing the Paris agreement.”

By the way, for those who will undoubtedly defend Trump, let me remind you that he committed himself to finding a way back into the Paris deal at the same time he announced the withdrawal.

“The United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, but begin negotiations to re-enter that Paris Accord or an entirely new transaction that’s fair.”

It should also be noted that the White House just released a report that declares global warming to be real and manmade.

Global warming is a hoax, but Trump’s in-name-only Paris announcement makes him a hoaxer.
