Is CNN's Oliver Darcy Really THIS Stupid? Or Just a Hack?

I’ve never read a single article written by CNN reporter Oliver Darcy. Nor have I heard him speak on CNN. But I came across the following tweet on Twitchy today:

If you’ve been getting your news from right-wing media, you probably think armed militant Antifa activists have seized a section of Seattle.

But the mayor’s office tells me, “City officials have not interacted with ‘armed antifa militants’ at this site.”

He attached a link to his latest article which is entitled, “Right-wing media says Antifa militants have seized part of Seattle. Local authorities say otherwise.”

I wonder if this means city officials have interacted with armed Black Lives Matter militants at this site.

Anyway, Darcy’s article begins:

Armed militant activists with the group Antifa have seized a sizable section of Seattle and are plotting to expand their territory — all as the local police surrender to them and evacuate a local precinct.

Or so the story goes if you’ve relied on right-wing media for your news this week.

He does, however, admit, “It is true that demonstrators have occupied a small, six-square block section of Seattle and designated it an “autonomous zone.” And it is true that, after clashes with police, a precinct was boarded up and evacuated in an attempt to deescalate the situation.”

Although Darcy’s description of the situation ridiculously understates the seriousness of the situation, let’s just go with it.

Is it lawful for an activist group, even one that isn’t known for its violence, to occupy six city blocks which they do not own? Is it lawful for members of this group to extort money from local business owners? Is it normal for any activist group to present a list of demands to be met before they will relinquish control of property they don’t own? I believe even these acts are crimes.

And they’ve set up checkpoints. They decide who will be allowed into their autonomous zone. And yes, they have their very own warlord to keep law and order within the zone.

Would you like to see a line of portable toilets or dumpster’s on fire on your way into work every morning?

Darcy writes, “if you would have spoken to local officials, as he did, you would know the real story.” Spare us.

Justice came quickly for the misguided scribe:

Here’s some reality for Oliver Darcy from his friends on Twitter:

Seattle Assistant Police Chief: “Community members have been subjected to barricades set up by the protesters with some armed individuals running them as checkpoints.”

If you’ve been getting your news from CNN, you probably think that potatoes can talk.

They’re openly talking about being armed.

Um, Oliver, even those who are supportive of the Antifa members who’ve established CHAZ say they’re “armed”

“They haven’t interacted…” means they are afraid to go there!

Indeed. City officials have not interacted with armed Antifa militants, opting to abandon their posts and flee instead.

They haven’t interacted with them because they’ve backed off. I knew you were bad at your job. But, I had no idea this bad. Pitiful.

Just thought the wording was oddly very-specific. Not saying there is no truth to it, but specifically saying they haven’t interacted with anyone. Just another tactic to imply nothing is going on and gaslight people.

Oliver’s gaslights are the best. It’s true that they’ve clashed with the police and even ran them off from their building. But they’re only occupying a very, extremely small 6 square block section of the city.

“It is true that demonstrators have occupied a small, six-square block section of Seattle and designated it an “autonomous zone.” And it is true that, after clashes with police, a precinct was boarded up and evacuated in an attempt to deescalate the situation.”

“We have been hearing from community members that they have been subjected to barricades set up by the protesters with some armed individuals running them as checkpoints in the neighborhood,” Seattle Police Assistant Chief Deanna Nollette said during a news conference Wednesday.

There are literally videos of the violence there. This is not going to end well.

One just needs to watch the live feeds from the “protesters” themselves! Esp one named Raz Simone, he walks around with his comrades carrying an AK. Declared himself the “law”, engaged in police brutality, beat on a graffiti artist. The rich irony is in HIS OWN VIDEO! GET WOKE!

The gaslighting by you and others is amazing.

Are you high????

Oliver Darcy auditioning to be Minister of Information for Warlord of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.

Baghdad Bob.

You somehow manage to out-hack yesterday’s hackjob every day.

Bro it’s 2020 there’s literally pictures.

The gas lighting of America, “Reliable Sources” edition continues. There are armed people AT THE ENTRANCE. They’re checking ID’s and deciding who goes in and out. They’ve chased the Seattle PD out of the precinct (due to Mayor’s decision) and used barricades to keep people out.
