1. Breaking the Cycle

Over the last few weeks, thousands of people have voted in primaries across the United States. The most important message to those voters is that their job – and their opportunity – doesn’t end when the polls close. The opportunity to make change happen comes today and every day.Take the question so many conservatives are asking themselves today: How in the world did we end up here? Did voting for George W. Bush advance the conservative cause? Is voting for Republican candidates the way to achieve conservative policy victories? No. No matter what party takes control of the House, Senate, or White House, it is simply business as usual, expanding government and empowering politicians on both sides of the aisle who concern themselves primarily with the perpetuation of their own power and the power of government. For years we the people have fueled a system that has spun further and further out of control. But there is hope. Please click here for the rest of the post.

2. Unprecedented: Calderon Slams US From House Floor. Receives Standing Ovation

Unprecedented, indeed. But, not surprising, given that our own President has done nothing but the same. I’m wondering if Calderon at least read the Arizona bill first, before demonizing an American state. That would actually be unprecedented, amongst our alleged leaders, at least.President Obama, for once, forewent bowing. Not to worry, though! The Democrats in Congress picked up his slack and went one further. Standing ovations! For a foreign leader bashing an American state. From our own House floor. 3. It Is What Politicians Do, Not What They Say

Politician will say anything under the sun to get elected. The most Godless, secular leftist in America running in South Carolina would cling to Jesus, mom, and apple pie with the best of them.It is why we must dig into candidates’ actions, not their words. Pledges in Washington have become a joke because of this. Anybody can sign a pledge saying they will not take an earmark, but what of their actions? It is one thing to make a promise. It is quite another to keep it.Take Tim Bridgewater. If past performance is the best indicator of future success, Utah voters are going to want to steer clear of Bridgewater.Bridgewater is on Twitter bragging about signing a no earmarks pledge. Someone should ask him then if he regrets all the earmarks Bob Bennett steered his way. Please click here for the rest of the post.

4. Carly Fiorina Publicly Attacks a Military Reservist

It is one thing to have no shame and quite another to have no class. Carly Fiorina apparently has neither.Just a short time ago, Carly was going around making some truly disparaging remarks about Sarah Palin, but she sure was willing and quick to embrace Palin’s endorsement. No shame. Now she is out attacking a military reservist, disparaging his service. Please click here for the rest of the post.

5. Stutzman jumps into the race for Souder’s seat

Disgraced Indiana Rep. Mark Souder resigned this week in the wake of the news of his affair with a female staffer. Souder just won a tough primary for his seat… which is now going to a special election, as there CLEARLY haven’t been enough of those this year. The date hasn’t been determined yet.State Sen. Marlin Stutzman announced today that he was jumping into the race to replace Souder. Please click here for the rest of the post.

6. Democrats Want to Regulate Bloggers & Shut Us Up

Just when you thought the Democrats had gone after every possible sub-group in America, either through punitive taxes, confusing regulatory burdens, stifling federal takeovers, or just rhetorical attacks, it appears that the Democrats had left out one group.Bloggers.Until now. Please click here for the rest of the post.

7. Radical Islam? Never Heard Of It.

Today, many blogs and websites are participating in “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day.” Some object on the grounds that deliberate offense is ugly and nothing to celebrate. That argument takes place in a vacuum, however. The kind of vacuum Religious Scholar Alan Colmes and many of his fellow travelers are desperate to maintain. As usual, Mark Steyn gets right to the point in discussing the event. Please click here for the rest of the post.
