1. The Too Simple Side of Race

I long ago accepted that whenever a conservative talks about race in a way the left does not like the conservative is immediately branded a racist. Look, for example, at Rush Limbaugh who does not have a racist bone in his body and is vilified as a racist. When he attempted to purchase the St. Louis Rams, the left spent days attacking him as a racist. But after 20 years on the air, the left had to use fabricated quotes.Doesn’t matter.Take my post on Willie Horton and King Samir Shabazz, the left is up in arms because I stated two indisputable facts: (1) the Willie Horton ad was not racist and (2) Republicans are not going to significantly increase their share of the black vote regardless of what they do so they might as well make an issue of King Samir Shabazz.I bring all of this up in relation to this: on the same day the NAACP declared the tea party movement racist, President Obama is declaring Al Qaeda racist. We can hope the timing is a coincidence. But I presume the left will yet again declare me a racist for saying what follows, but what must still be said. Please click here for the rest of the post.

2. King Samir Shabazz Should Be 2010’s Willie Horton

Willie Horton murdered a 17 year old boy, stabbing him 19 times, after the boy had handed over money from a gas station cash register. Michael Dukakis let Horton out of jail for a weekend furlough despite Horton’s life sentence in jail. Horton kidnapped a couple, stabbing one and raping the other.Had Horton been white, the Republicans still would have used the ad. But Horton was black and the ad was powerfully effective — so effective that it and Dukakis’s stupid answer about opposing the death penalty even if his wife were murdered destroyed the Democrats in 1988 — the Democrats screamed racism at the top of their lungs and their accomplices in the media have forever agreed. Willie Horton = racism.Nonsense. The ad worked. It was powerful. It was the truth. That’s why the Democrats screamed racism so loud. It was the only way to stop the GOP from going this direction again. They know the GOP lives in perpetual quixotic quest for the day it gets a significant share of the black vote. Now we have King Samir Shabazz. . . . Republican candidates nationwide should seize on this issue. The Democrats are giving a pass to radicals who advocate killing white kids in the name of racial justice and who try to block voters from the polls. Please click here for the rest of the post.

3. Shocking Emails Show National Rifle Association Worked to Prohibit Rifles From National Parks

You know things are bad for the National Rifle Association when it has to get the New York Times to run a puff piece on it.But in their zeal to get a puff piece out there as well as their collaboration with the left on the DISCLOSE Act, the NRA has angered a number of people on Capitol Hill.Shocking new e-mails obtained by RedState show that the National Rifle Association actively opposed and sought to undermine gun-rights legislation offered in the Senate by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK).Please click here for the rest of the post.

4. NRA Openly Floats A Harry Reid Endorsement

The NRA is now openly floating, or at least allowing to be floated, its endorsement of Harry Reid, a man who voted for the Brady Gun Bill. They have gone from denying they would endorse Harry Reid to “not tamping down speculation.”Please click here for the rest of the post.

5. Democrats Go to Canada. It’s a Fundraising Excursion

Rand Paul’s opponent, Jack Conway, has ventured outside the United States to raise cash from trial lawyers.Conway headed north, to Canada, for a meeting of trial lawyers from whom he wanted cash. The trial lawyers ponied up. Conway’s campaign said it welcomes support from across the country, which Canada is not.But it wasn’t just Conway. Please click here for the rest of the post.

6. Did Harry Reid Know The Surge Was A Military Strategy?

Back in 2007, Harry Reid declared Iraq “lost”.On Friday, in a Las Vegas Sun interview, reporter Jon Ralston asked Harry Reid about that comment.Reid’s response?“It wasn’t won militantly. It was won politically, diplomatically and with the surge.”Please click here for the rest of the post.
