Trump In 2005: Freedom Tower is "disgusting", "horrible", "terrible design."

So Mr. New York Values who finally got around to visiting the 9/11 Museum because he just loves the city of New York so much was on record 10 years ago, bashing the Freedom Tower while on MSNBC with Chris Matthews.

Naturally he was on MSNBC and talking to Chris Matthews because as most of us know, Trump is a fake. He’s not a conservative and his Republican bonafides couldn’t fill a shot glass.

That’s why it is no surprise to learn that Donald Trump was bashing the new World Trade Center back in 2005. I am guessing it is likely due to the fact he wanted in on the project and didn’t get to be part of it. His entire schtick is lashing out at others when he perceives he’s the last one being picked like kids playing kickball.

Here’s the video of Trump:

I’d rather have nothing than what they’re building, Chris. It’s a terrible design. It was designed by an egghead architect who really doesn’t have a lot of experience of designing something like this. And it’s just a terrible design.

It’s wrong angles. I mean, the worst of all, it’s a skeletal building. And you know, if you look at it, what is it really? It’s a 60-story building with a skeleton on top of it because you’ve got 40 or 50 stories with nothing in between.

And it’s a disgusting design that we’re going to have to live with for many, many years in New York, and actually in the world, because New York City is so international. And it doesn’t represent what we want to have represented.

Nice.

He goes on to say it looks like a “pile of junk” and the surrounding area looks like a “junkyard.” That’s before he gets to the best part:

It’s really a shame. We have a great opportunity. And, you know the terrorists win. If we build this job the way it is, the terrorists win.

The terrorists win. Wow.

Trump went on to say nobody would rent space there which is why he built over on Wall Street (with a $150,000 grant from the federal government for “small business”). To date, nearly 65% of the Freedom Tower has been leased. So much for that prediction.

People will argue a number of people were opposed to this design but claiming the “terrorists win” if it’s built?

There’s no excuse for that.
