It’s hard to keep up with all of the nonsense flowing from the White House on a daily basis. Donald Trump Jr. got into some hot water recently when it was revealed he took a meeting with a Russian lawyer who claimed to have damaging information about Hillary Clinton.

The New York Times spells out how Trump Jr. had two different versions of why he met with Natalia Veselnitskaya, and it makes him sound either incompetent or dumb.

The best theory to come out of the story, however, is the idea it is all one big Democratic plot.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner confirmed late Saturday that they met with a Kremlin-linked lawyer in June 2016 during the election campaign—but President Trump’s attorney is laying the blame firmly with the Democrats.

“We have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which, according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier,” Mark Corall, spokesperson for President Trump’s lawyer Marc Kasowitz told NBC.

“These developments raise serious issues as to exactly who authorized and participated in any effort by Russian nationals to influence our election in any manner,” Corall continued.

Did you get that? To believe this, you have to believe Democrats, who supported Hillary Clinton, used an opposition research firm to set up a meeting between a Russian attorney and the Trump campaign……to give them damaging information about Hillary Clinton. 

Makes sense, right?

Of course, this lunacy is making its way into the pro-Trump fever-swamps as is evidenced by this tweet from a Trump sycophant:

After you stop laughing at the absurdity of it all, the central question that arises out of this goofball theory is this:

If Democrats were trying to set up Trump to show an appearance of impropriety, why wait until July of 2017 to release the information?

Wouldn’t it make sense to release it in October of 2016, just before the election?

Oh, wait! Now I get it! This is all part of the Democrats plan! Get Trump elected so they could break out this information eight months after the election to light the fuse for impeachment!

Brilliant.
