Townhall's Katie Pavlich Asks First Question at WH Press Briefing, BuzzFeed Hardest Hit

Here’s a milestone for RedState’s parent company Townhall Media. Katie Pavlich, editor at Townhall.com asked the first question of Press Secretary Sean Spicer in today’s White House press briefing. Katie’s question was aimed at nailing down the Trump administration’s policy toward persecuted religious minorities in the Middle East.

According to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, the Trump administration is committed to issuing additional protections for Christians under threat of genocide from ISIS in the Middle East and North Africa by granting refugee asylum in the United States.

“It’s important to the president, it was during and throughout the campaign. It’s something he addressed this morning and it’s something he’s committed to in terms of allowing Christian minorities in key countries to seek asylum in the United States,” Spicer said Thursday afternoon. “He recognizes that in so many nations, these are the oppressed groups in accordance with how the U.N. defines refugees.”

BuzzFeed “video person” Dorsey Shaw seemed to take exception to this as was reported at Twitchy.com, another part of the Townhall family. Certainly Pavlich’s question doesn’t quite rise to the level of BuzzFeed’s fluff videos of Barack Obama taking selfies in the White House, but there really wasn’t any call for being snarky.
