Tonight, the best that the Democratic Party can put forward will battle each other on the big stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here in the backyard of [mc_name name=’Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000146′ ], Hillary Clinton will try to stave off the attacks of several opponents in the Democratic primary – Bernie Sanders, who is flying in on whatever cloud he is using as his hair today; Martin O’Malley, the [mc_name name=’Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’C001098′ ] of the Democratic Party who wants to battle the establishment that is making Hillary possible; and Lincoln Chafee and Jim Webb, who are still things that are happening for some reason.

But, there is a specter looming over the stage tonight, one who doesn’t need a podium. All he needs is one minute and forty-four seconds, and the Draft Biden PAC is giving it to him tonight during the Democratic debate on CNN.

This comes on the heels of a tremendously awful (for Hillary) story in POLITICO today, where donors, supporters, and staffers admit Hillary Clinton is a terrible candidate. Polling shows her freefalling more beautifully than anything Tom Petty could have written.

It’s natural, though. Biden’s allies have been telegraphing for a while that he was going to run, and there should be a successor to Barack Obama’s legacy. Biden’s not completely foolish for waiting so long. Hillary has a chance to royally screw up tonight, and he can come in and clean house. Donors, Democrats in Washington, and the full weight of the executive branch can come in to support someone. There may not even be any pressure to the FBI to hold off on releasing the really bad e-mail stuff on Hillary if Biden enters the race.

My friends, as you watch Hillary struggle with simple questions, Martin O’Malley struggle for relevance, and Bernie Sanders struggle to recognize the planet he is living on, remember: the #Joementum has begun.
