CNN Excoriated Over Texas Mass Shooting Tweet With 'Pro-Choice Plug'

Sunday marked one week since a mass shooting at a Texas church. In a tweet marking the one-week since the gunman took the lives of more than a dozen people, including children, CNN somehow managed to make the tragic situation even more political by misstating the death toll.

“A Texas church has held its first service since a gunman opened fire, killing 25 people and an unborn child one week ago,” a tweet from CNN’s main account read.

“25 people and an unborn child?” Really? Isn’t “25 people and an unborn child” really 26 people?

Well, yes. Just ask the vast majority of Twitter users who responded to the tweet, blasting CNN for its showing its “bias,” pushing a “political agenda,” and making a “pro-choice plug.”

Here are just some of the tweets:

The CNN tweet linked to an article, which, like its tweet, said the death toll in the Sutherland Springs, Texas, church shooting was “25 people and an unborn child.” That article linked to yet another CNN story that pegged the death toll at “25 people and an unborn child.”
