Greg Orman is an Empty Democrat Suit

Empty_Suit

Obviously, we are not huge fans of Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) around here. His weaknesses, which are being exposed in the general, are exactly the reason most conservatives supported Milton Wolf in the primary. But alleged independent Greg Orman has really and truly exposed himself as the worse option in Kansas due to his serial vapidity and dishonesty. This piece lays out the case that the press is actively campaigning for Orman by refusing to ask him difficult questions. That’s a fair criticism except that the main problem with Orman is that he refuses to give the press access to him at all. As CNN’s Dana Bash noted today, Orman has ducked the press with all the enthusiasm of a guy trying to sneak into a courthouse for a criminal trial:

Orman’s pitiably hilarious refusal to answer the question of who he will caucus with is an answer in and of itself. When running for election statewide in Kansas, there is only one reason that a candidate would refuse to say who he plans to caucus with if he is elected, and that is if he plans to caucus with Democrats. Openly stating that he plans to caucus with Republicans would do nothing to hurt and would only help. The nominal Democrat in this race has already fallen on his sword for Orman and there is nowhere else for Kansas Democrat voters to go.

But it’s not just this simple (yet uncomfortable) question that Greg Orman is incapable of answering with even basic competency. It’s basically every question. As noted by Revolt of the Masses, here he is talking himself into silly knots trying to answer whether he supports the repeal of Obamacare:

And here he is literally running from a Kansas citizen asking if he would vote to support Obamacare:

Greg Orman’s actions and rhetoric are both those of a man who has literally nothing of substance to the national discussion of the issues. And his refusal to answer who he will caucus with indicate with total certainty that, if elected, he will be a reliable Democrat vote. In other words, Kansas might be about to elect [mc_name name=’Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’B000711′ ] without even knowing it. The press does not have a vested interest in highlighting this fact, so it is up to the flaccid campaign of [mc_name name=’Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000307′ ] to do so.
