If you’re wondering why there’s a sudden blizzard of #dontblink tags coming from RedState Gathering folks today, it’s because of something that Ted Cruz said during his speech at the Gathering today. Basically, Senator Cruz was asked about how conservatives should hold firm on defunding Obamacare in the face of concerted effort by the media and other Democratic interest groups; his response was, unsurprisingly, don’t blink. So the Democrats yell, and rant, and attack. They will, anyway; and this issue is one of principle. We expect the President will stand to his principles: why should the Republican Party be expected to deny their principles?

We’ll have more on this later, but we thought that it’d be best to explain that now.
