It’s snowing in the Northeast, and much of the area is shut down and people are being told to stay inside.

But CNN wants you to know that at least one person is holding down the fort even as the snow pelts down on her. That’s right. This courageous — nay, ‘fearless’ — individual braving the elements today is a girl.

Yep. It’s a statue. A statue is getting snowed on.

But it’s a statue that identifies as female and therefore it is more remarkable than every other hunk of stone or metal out there today getting snowed on, according to CNN.

The temporary display was installed a week ago, the day before International Women’s Day, for an equally trite reason:

“Fearless Girl” is designed to call attention to a new initiative by the asset-manager to increase the number of women on their clients’ corporate boards.

“Today, we are calling on companies to take concrete steps to increase gender diversity on their boards and have issued clear guidance to help them begin to take action,” Ron O’Hanley, president and CEO of SSGA said in a statement. “A key contributor to effective independent board leadership is diversity of thought, which requires directors with different skills, backgrounds and expertise.”

Because, you, know, all men think the same…or something.

Regardless, CNN’s tweet shows how ridiculous feminism has become and the utter nonsense being spouted and pushed out to the public in what they think is an empowering point but it’s really just dumb.
