Don Lemon Says Susan Rice Story Is A Diversion, Won't Cover The Story

After the revelation last month that the identities of members of Donald Trump’s transition team had been unmasked and leaked after being incidentally swept up as a part of another investigation, the big question has been who requested the names be unmasked.

On Monday, Eli Lake at Bloomberg reported that the unmasking was allegedly requested by none other than President Obama’s Nasional Security Adviser Susan Rice.

One would think that piece of information would be fairly newsworthy given the attention the media has put on the investigation into what exactly went on during the election and transition. But not so much for CNN’s Don Lemon, who has decided it’s simply a diversion.

Watch:

Lemon said,

“Let us be very clear about this. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team… was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the president’s original claim. And on this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people who are trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion.”

Surely Lemon will jump back on the “democracy dies in darkness” bandwagon as soon as an Obama administration official isn’t the one having the light shined on her.
