UPDATE: The Death of a Russian Exile in the UK Being Investigated as a Homicide

The death of a Russian Exile who was found dead in his London home this week has been turned into a murder inquiry.

RedState first covered the death of Nikolai Glushkov on March 13th, but at that time the news was breaking and the police were still investigating.

However, it is being reported today that Scotland Yard has announced it is launching a murder investigation after a pathologist’s report determined Glushkov’s cause of death was compression to the neck. Adding another wrinkle to the story, Glushkov’s body was found Monday evening after he failed to show up in court:

The Scotland Yard announcement comes two days after British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that Britain would expel 23 Russian diplomats due to the poisoning of Sergei Skripal, which she said must be “met with a full and robust response” because it represented “an unlawful use of force by the Russian state against the United Kingdom.”

In 2013, after the sudden death of Russian exile Boris Berezovsky, Glushkov told the Guardian that “too many deaths [of Russian exiles] have been happening.”
