Burger-Flipping Robot to Terminate Burger-Flipping Jobs

In a shocking display of “We Told You So,” a burger restaurant in California started a robot that will eventually replace needy and demanding burger flippers, with Flippy, a burger flipping machine.

A burger-flipping robot has just completed its first day on the job at a restaurant in California, replacing humans at the grill.

Flippy has mastered the art of cooking the perfect burger and has just started work at CaliBurger, a fast-food chain.

The robotic kitchen assistant, which its makers say can be installed in just five minutes, is the brainchild of Miso Robotics.

“Much like self-driving vehicles, our system continuously learns from its experiences to improve over time,” said David Zito, chief executive officer of Miso Robotics.

“Though we are starting with the relatively ‘simple’ task of cooking burgers, our proprietary AI software allows our kitchen assistants to be adaptable and therefore can be trained to help with almost any dull, dirty or dangerous task in a commercial kitchen — whether it’s frying chicken, cutting vegetables or final plating.”

Cameras and sensors help Flippy to determine when the burger is fully cooked, before the robot places them on a bun. A human worker then takes over and adds condiments.

For now, you needy, demanding condiment appliers are safe.  At least until Miso Robotics designs the “Condimenty” to replace you too.  Good news is, there is only one of these robots so far.  That will change though.

More Flippy robots will be introduced at CaliBurgers next year, with the aim of installing them in 50 of their restaurants worldwide by the end of 2019.

CaliBurger say the benefits include making “food faster, safer and with fewer errors”.

Is that the only reason CaliBurger?  I bet it has just a bit to do with California demanding that you pay some demanding whiner a “living wage.”

What is particularly hilarious is the speed at which this “Told Ya So” moment was brought to reality.  Just last year the wacka-doodle liberal controlled legislature in California passed a law raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2022.  Liberals cheered.  Conservatives said, just wait…. Here comes the robots.  What do you know! A year later, this wonderful machine arrives.  It doesn’t complain about needing higher wages.  It doesn’t have every excuse in the book as to why it “deserves” paid time off or healthcare.  It doesn’t miss work for #adaywithoutarobot. It defines convenience and reliability.  Instead of several decent paying jobs for part-time workers, now they will be phased out.  Not 15 bucks an hour.  Not 8 bucks an hour.  Zero.

Caliburger is the start.  These will be installed in restaurants across the state and country.  This is the beginning of the end for the majority of fast food workers.  terminators-meme

Now when Skynet launches, not only will the machines hunt us down, but they will also refuse to feed us.  Let’s just hope it is a long time before Flippy becomes self aware.
