There is not a person in this country who has not experienced extreme levels of frustration while searching for a parking spot. Some of that frustration is due to the fact that, when they do find a space available, it’s too small to fit in because someone else has parked over the parking line.
One police officer in Texas has come up with a unique and humorous approach to defusing these types of parking situations – and hopefully preventing them in the future, as Fox News reports:
All you really need to know you learned in kindergarten…including how to park a car.
At least that’s the philosophy of one Southlake, Tex., police officer who came up with an original way to teach a lesson to someone who parked a pickup across two spaces.
The Ram truck was over the line and encroaching on a handicapped spot, so the artistic officer drew a coloring book style page with an outline of the department’s badge that read:
“We noticed you had a little trouble staying in the lines when you parked next to a handicapped space … Maybe if you practice coloring our patch and staying in the lines here, it could help you avoid citations in the future?”
The PD posted images of the the coloring book page on social media, and included this message:
We try to avoid snark and sass (we REALLY do 😉), but sometimes our fair citizens make it hard.
Please stay in the lines when you park ESPECIALLY if it’s next to a handicapped spot or you might be the recipient of one of our new fliers.
Be kind and drive kind and park kind! Let this graphic be an attention grabbing example so we don’t have to end up going to FedEx Kinko’s and making like thousands of copies of these.
We try to avoid snark and sass (we REALLY do 😉), but sometimes our fair citizens make it hard. Please stay in the lines…
I vote we make these mandatory nationwide!
By the way, whoever handles their social media does a really good job. They frequently post “Game of Thrones” memes related to citizen safety, among other cute things designed to get – and keep – the public’s attention.
Fair citizens, bad weather with 3" hail is presumably on its way and expected to be here in town around 4:00pm. You…
