WOW. Rep. Michael McCaul Shoots the Shark And Then Pole Vaults Over Its Corpse (VIDEO)

William Kunstler, happily deceased Soviet-owned tool and radical lawyer who is now riding a spiked phallus in the Ninth Circle of Hell, once said:

“I don’t believe in criticizing socialist governments publicly, even if there are human-rights violations.”

I have to admit that I generally adhere to this principle when it comes to criticizing conservatives. There is an entire political party plus the media dedicated to the task so my voice seems superfluous. But there are times when things just go too far. For instance, Texas Representative Michael McCaul, who is positioning himself for a primary challenge of Senator Ted Cruz, was on Fox & Friends yesterday and said this:

Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, who chairs the Homeland Security Committee, made the hefty charge in an interview on “Fox & Friends” in response to news that two sources with knowledge of the FBI’s investigation of Clinton’s server say that there is a 99 percent chance that Clinton’s server was breached.

“She exposed it to our enemies,” McCaul, a Republican, said of the classified information found on Clinton’s server.

“Now, our adversaries have this very sensitive information that not only jeopardizes her and national security at home, but the men and women serving overseas.”

“This is, in my opinion, quite frankly, treason,” he added, eliciting audible gasps from the “Fox & Friends” crew.

Actually, the FBI sources quoted by Brett Baier said Clinton’s server had been penetrated by no less than five foreign intelligence services. But let’s go to ‘first things.’ Words have meaning:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”

Clinton’s actions were clearly and unambiguously criminal under federal law even if no “reasonable prosecutor” would pursue the charges. But treason? Get a grip on yourself, Scooter, because you’re starting to sound like someone who writes for Breitbart or GatewayPundit. There is no evidence that she has sympathies for our enemies. There is damned little evidence that she has sympathy for anyone but herself.

This kind of stuff is expected out of some rube first term backbencher or Maxine Waters but McCaul is chairman of an important committee and is touting himself for a promotion to the Senate. This kind of numbskullery doesn’t bode well for the activities of his committee or his recommend him for more responsibility.
