Trump Administration Will Reduce Welfare Payments To Climate Change Grifters

Within the federal government the lodestar of climate change fraud and pseudo-science is, oddly enough, not in the EPA but in NASA’s “Earth Science” division. What does the National Aeronautics and Space Administration bring to the table in the area of climate change. Well, their main mission seems to be to provide a regular income to several high profile climate change wackos in the mold of James Hansen, to provide funding to a network of like-minded academics and to constantly fudge temperature records in order to show warming where none had previously existed. The fact is that this $2+ BILLION organization exists only to lobby the US government to destroy the US economy and to, at government expense, produce political agit-prop in the service of stopping a natural process that the earth has experienced since Day One.

Not only has it engaged in illegally propagandizing Americans, it has acted in an utterly lawless manner:

The federal government’s chief climate research agency is refusing to give House Republicans the detailed information they want on a controversial study on climate change.

Citing confidentiality concerns and the integrity of the scientific process, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said it won’t give Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) the research documents he subpoenaed.

At the center of the controversy is a study that concluded there has not been a 15-year “pause” in global warming. Some NOAA scientists contributed to the report.

They won’t give up the documents because they know there will be a lot more of the bogus “hockey stick” and the “hide the decline” obfuscation pioneered by the Jerry Sandusky of Climate Change, Michael Mann.

A new day might very well be coming.

Donald Trump is poised to eliminate all climate change research conducted by Nasa as part of a crackdown on “politicized science”, his senior adviser on issues relating to the space agency has said.

Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century.

This would mean the elimination of Nasa’s world-renowned research into temperature, ice, clouds and other climate phenomena. Nasa’s network of satellites provide a wealth of information on climate change, with the Earth science division’s budget set to grow to $2bn next year. By comparison, space exploration has been scaled back somewhat, with a proposed budget of $2.8bn in 2017.

Bob Walker, a senior Trump campaign adviser, said there was no need for Nasa to do what he has previously described as “politically correct environmental monitoring”.

“We see Nasa in an exploration role, in deep space research,” Walker told the Guardian. “Earth-centric science is better placed at other agencies where it is their prime mission.

“My guess is that it would be difficult to stop all ongoing Nasa programs but future programs should definitely be placed with other agencies. I believe that climate research is necessary but it has been heavily politicized, which has undermined a lot of the work that researchers have been doing. Mr Trump’s decisions will be based upon solid science, not politicized science.”

To tell you the truth, I am highly ambivalent about NASA. Period. I’m not enamored with shooting rockets into space if they aren’t carrying a useful payload. I am definitely not a fan of manned space exploration. I’d just as soon shutter NASA as fund it. Having said that, if we are going to fund NASA we need to focus it on its historic mission… you know, the words that are in the agency’s name. It should not be in the business of lobbying the government or producing propaganda to support agency goals that seem to be nothing more than getting more money to spend next year.
