While the decision by the government to not pursue any further punishment of President Trump’s former National Security Advisor, retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, was sweet, equally gratifying from a purely partisan viewpoint was the outrage on the left. Across Twitter, lefty lawyers, fake and real, experienced and bloviators, who had lectured everyone for the past three years on the slam dunk nature of Flynn’s guilt were beating their tiny little fists on the floor in rage.

None of the rage came close to being as delicious as that of the fat little sack of scum who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, Jerry Nadler.

Not long after the announcement was made that the Flynn indictment was indefensible because it was not based on a crime and because the FBI had cleared Flynn of lying but that decision was halted by FBI leadership, Nadler released this statement:

“The decision to drop the charges against General Flynn is outrageous. The evidence against General Flynn is overwhelming. He pleaded guilty to lying to investigators. And now a politicized and thoroughly corrupt Department of Justice is going to let the President’s crony simply walk away. Americans are right to be furious and worried about the continued erosion of our rule of law.

“Even in the height of a national emergency — perhaps especially so — our country requires an impartial justice system. We are not supposed to get special treatment because we are friends with the President or refused to cooperate with federal investigators on his behalf. The decision to overrule the special counsel is without precedent and requires immediate explanation.

“In light of the ongoing pandemic, I worked with the Department to delay our scheduled hearing with the Attorney General. It is my intent to reschedule that hearing as soon as possible. I will also ask the Inspector General for the Department of Justice to investigate this matter. The integrity of our criminal justice system is at stake, and the American people deserve answers.”

This is not going to end well. Nadler and his butt boys are simply not intelligent enough to engage Barr in anything that is not a one-way diatribe. Barr has also shown that he’s not a particularly easy man to intimidate, — in particular when he knows the people trying to intimidate him have zero power. We saw how he handled the same mob over his synopsis of the Mueller report. The outcome here will be no different. In fact, Nadler can’t even compel Barr to discuss the deliberations surrounding the decision…though it would be a sweet touch if several of the people involved in this travesty were indicted on the day Barr is scheduled to testify.

While Nadler is a lightweight, respected by very few of his colleagues, and is a verifiable clown…

…what he is setting up here is a theme that Democrats will try to push for the remainder of the election year:

But the showdown between Barr and Nadler will make for great television and it is bound to produce lots of tweets from the President that will keep us all amused.
