Donald Trump's Latest Dumb Statement

Let’s not pretend that Donald Trump is anything more than a gold-plated fraud (or gilded toad). His presence in this race has done little more than serve to reveal the most ignorant, classless, hateful, and poorly informed members of our population.

Thankfully, those of us who work with RedState (For you angry Trumpkins who write in, try to remember it’s one word – RedState) are all well-aware of what he is and unlike the frauds with Fox News, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and a few others who have made their name by pretending to be sane voices for conservatism, we’re willing to call him out for what he is.

With that out of the way, I present to you the latest Trump absurdity.

During a Saturday morning rally in Watertown, New York, Trump declared that those not voting for him in next Tuesday’s New York primary should not vote, but instead should “sit home and watch television.”

The irony in that statement is that without reality TV, this farcical charlatan never would have managed to make it as far as he has in this race.

From the Washington Examiner:

Trump noted that politicians always say that people have to go out and vote no matter who they support since “it is a great American tradition.”

For Trump, however, it really is all about him. His “Make America Great Again” slogan is more part of the brand he’s pushing, in order to benefit himself, and has far less to do with any actual plan for fixing the issues our nation now labors under.

As noted here earlier, even the mythical wall he envisions on our southern border will be named after him.

If I could ask one question of Trump and his Trumpidian cultists: Those who aren’t voting for him obviously aren’t part of his cult of personality, so what makes him think they would listen to him and stay home, rather than come out in force to vote against him?
