Blue Collar Trump Jr. Promotes Class Warfare From His Penthouse

Ok. Just to be fair, I don’t know if Trump Jr. lives in a penthouse, or not. His dad does.

I’m pretty sure wherever Junior lives, it’s far better than my current digs.

In fact, I’m willing to lay a bet in one of Trump’s casinos that Trump Jr., nor Daddy Trump, himself, have ever seen a single day of hunger and want.

In other words, Junior isn’t buying his underwear from Walmart.

With all these certainties in tow, it’s all the more preposterous that he’s trying to frame his dad as some kind of blue collar hero, fighting the forces of the aristocracy, for the good of America.

Before I go any further with this, I want to be perfectly clear: I am not a class warfare bimbo, looking at the haves and mourning my have-not status.

I don’t even begrudge the Trumps, Kardashians, Hiltons, or other rich and famous their lot in life. Their good fortune doesn’t take from me.

What I do have a problem with are statements like this:

A couple of points, Junior…

How many small businesses had to close their doors because of non-payment by your dad? Were they not “hard working” enough? Your dad got benefit of their work, but didn’t have to pay, so wouldn’t that be the equivalent of stealing and taking? That he used the law and the bankruptcy loophole doesn’t absolve him of the damage done to those Americans.

How about all the money poured into the so-called “aristocracy” by Junior and Daddy Trump over the years? Isn’t it a tad hypocritical to condemn the “aristocracy” when you’ve both been so active in assuring Clinton and other Democrats remain a part of the ruling class?

Clinton, the Democratic front-runner and former New York senator who had some say over policy that could have impacted Trump’s vast business dealings, received donations from both him and son Donald Trump Jr. on separate occasions in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, according to state and federal disclosure records.

Trump has also been generous with the Clinton Foundation, donating at least $100,000, according to the non-profit.

She wasn’t the only Democratic beneficiary of Trump’s wealth. Trump donated $5,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and $20,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in the 2006 cycle, effectively buoying the election prospects of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, respectively.

Just $1,000 of Trump’s money in the 2006 cycle went to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

So while I’m more than happy to congratulate the Trumps on their life of luxury and good fortune, I really do have to take issue with the idea that Donald Trump or any of his clan are blue collar heroes.

Junior’s statement was made from either an extreme lack of self-awareness, or criminal-level disingenuousness.
