Bizarre Tale of FBI Translator Who Abandoned Her Life To Marry Into ISIS

This reminds me of all those stories in the news you read about the female prison guards falling for prisoners.

They usually end up sneaking contraband into the lock up for their jailbird beaus, and their unhappy, unkempt pictures end up on the news.

In other words, it never turns out for the good.

In a bizarre story that’s just coming to light, CNN is reporting on a female FBI translator who fled the country to marry an ISIS terrorist she’d been assigned to study, only to realize weeks later that Mr. Charming on Skype isn’t necessarily the same in person.

The rogue employee, Daniela Greene, lied to the FBI about where she was going and warned her new husband he was under investigation, according to federal court records.

Greene’s saga, which has never been publicized, exposes an embarrassing breach of national security at the FBI—an agency that has made its mission rooting out ISIS sympathizers across the country.

She told her employers she was traveling to Germany in June 2014 to visit her parents. Instead, she traveled on a one-way ticket to Turkey, then met with someone who escorted her across the border into Syria to be with the man she’d been assigned to monitor, Denis Cuspert… aka… Abu Talha al-Almani.

Almani had been a rapper in Germany before converting to Islam and going full-bore crazy.

Meanwhile, Greene was still married to her American husband when she let an online infatuation take her into enemy territory.

She started emailing someone shortly after arriving in Syria.

“I was weak and didn’t know how to handle anything anymore,” she wrote on July 8. “I really made a mess of things this time.”

Ya think??

In another email the following day she wrote: “I am gone and I can’t come back. I wouldn’t even know how to make it through, if I tried to come back. I am in a very harsh environment and I don’t know how long I will last here, but it doesn’t matter, it’s all a little too late…”

On July 22, 2014, she again wrote to the unidentified recipient: “Not sure if they told you that I will probably go to prison for a long time if I come back, but that is life. I wish I could turn back time some days.”

As it was, she made it back, but she didn’t go to prison for a long time.

In return for her cooperation, she got a two year sentence, which some are arguing is much too lenient, considering she let a murderous thug and enemy of America know he was under investigation, in order to keep him from seeing justice.

In January 2015, Almani received a “Special Designation” by then-Secretary of State John Kerry, as a global terrorist.

Nowhere in the designation notice released by the State Department did it mention that he’d married an American working for the U.S. government, but a German newspaper got the scoop, calling Greene an American spy.

Greene has already served her prison sentence of two years and is now a free woman.

Of course, she’s not working for the FBI, anymore. She’s a hostess in a hotel lounge.

It sounds like a big step down, but let’s be honest. She’s very fortunate to be alive and free.
