Want to dispel the rumor that the original intent of the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville was not to be a gathering of white nationalists and Nazis?

This probably isn’t the way.

On Friday night, Jason Kessler, the organizer of the Charlottesville rally, tweeted out a disgusting hit on Heather Heyer, the 32-year old woman killed when Alex James Fields rammed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters on Saturday.

“Heather Heyer was a fat, disgusting Communist. Communists have killed 94 million,” he tweeted Friday. “Looks like it was payback time.”

You’re not helping.

He also linked to the article from the now-homeless neo-Nazi website, The Daily Stormer, which was equally repulsive.

Has Kessler not been keeping up with the furor since Charlottesville?

The word is that Kessler has been “in hiding,” since last weekend. He attempted to give a press conference after the events, but was shouted down and chased away by the angry crowd.

Saturday morning, the offensive tweet had been pulled, to be replaced with an explanation:

“I repudiate the heinous tweet that was sent from my account last night. I’ve been under a crushing amount of stress & death threats,” Mr. Kessler tweeted.

“I’m taking ambien, xanax and I had been drinking last night. I sometimes wake up having done strange things I don’t remember,” he added.

Maybe stay in hiding for a few more weeks, Kessler.

And delete your account.
