Trump Lashes Out, Has New Name for Dianne Feinstein

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., right, joined at left by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., listen as rired FBI director James Comey recounts a series of conversations with President Donald Trump as he testifies before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, June 8, 2017. Comey alleges Trump repeatedly pressed him for his "loyalty" and directly pushed him to "lift the cloud" of investigation by declaring publicly the president was not the target of the probe into his campaign's Russia ties. Why so nervous, guy?

Trump is back to his schoolyard name-calling. Something about Senator Dianne Feinstein unilaterally releasing the August 2017 transcripts from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee really got him rankled.

I’m not all the way through the transcript, yet, but I don’t know why he’s so unsettled. As far as I can tell, there’s not a lot there – once you get through all the talk of the Russian mob, that is.

Trump even suggested Feinstein face a primary challenge for her actions.

It’s like he forgot that he’s a [sort of] Republican, and not a Democrat. I don’t think his foot soldiers have a lot of power in Democrat primaries in California.

“Sneaky” Dianne Feinstein.

She’s a liberal Democrat from California, man. “Sneaky” isn’t an insult to her. She’s got that on her resume, for Pete’s sake.

What Feinstein did by tossing the transcript out there is create a rush from both sides to pick through and find those parts that can be used to their advantage.

For Republicans, they need to be able to use this testimony as proof that Trump did not directly coordinate with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election unfairly.

Democrats see the connection in Trump’s business dealings with Felix Sater, the Bayrock Group, and the sort of open secret/rumor in New York and New Jersey that the Russian mob has long been involved in bankrolling Trump organization projects.

Trump also lashed out at the “witch hunt” again, and urged Republicans to “finally take control.”

So what do they do?

There’s not much they can do now, without making this look like a banana republic, rather than a representative government, dedicated to order and the rule of law.
