Sen. Ted Cruz has been on a bit of a roll since his re-election win over Robert O’Rourke last year and the debut of his lumberjack beard. He has expanded his Jedi training to include not just ticking off people in Washington D.C. but also getting actors who are no longer in the limelight peeved.

This has been truly glorious to watch.

The latest example comes from Fox News via twitter, where former Seinfeld “comic” Jason Alexander took umbrage with Sen. Cruz’s comment about one of Cruz’s Senate colleague’s POTUS campaign being a lil’ vapid.

From Fox News

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, last week invoked a Seinfeld line in a dig at 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., but days later, Jason Alexander, the actor who played George Costanza on the show, took issue with Cruz.

On Thursday, Cruz tweeted that Bennet’s campaign is a “Seinfeld campaign—about nothing,” in a reference to the show’s running joke that it essentially had no plot. The show ran from 1989 to 1998 and is seen as one of the most beloved series ever.

Cruz tweeted this on Thursday, May 2nd…

Michael Bennet’s campaign is a Seinfeld campaign—about nothing—that typifies the Left’s empty rage in 2020. In a decade in the Senate, he’s done very little…but he did stomp his foot & yell at me on Senate floor (which he features in fundraising emails).

Three days later Alexander came up with this gem

So @SenTedCruz has called @SenatorBennet a “Seinfeld campaign”, claiming it’s about nothing. I’ve met Bennett. He is a great man and real choice for POTUS. As for Cruz – the jerk store called and they’re running out of you. I say, the faster the better.

Good one, Costanza. You are really showing your wit responding with a line someone else wrote for you in a show about nada. Thankfully for America, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David did the writing on the show and you gurgled your way through their writing.

The only thing Ted Cruz was pointing out was that Michael Bennet’s Presidential run looks a bit bleak. Which it is. Just because Constanza has met him and thinks the Senator from Colorado is a nice guy, doesn’t mean his campaign is NOT about nothing and pretty boring. Just brushing up on Bennet’s time in the Senate would confirm this.

Costanza is probably too busy to look at policy material or other icky stuff like that, being he is trying to become a world-class poker player. Just google some of those stellar results.

So congrats to Ted Cruz for his win last year against Robert, for keeping D.C. on its toes, and getting people who were once in a show about nothing crying about something small. You are on a roll, Senator.

Keep. It. Up.
