FINALLY, the plan comes into focus.

Michael Bloomberg is not really running for President to be President; he just wants to screw with the Democrats and President Trump. Possibly along the way spend a ton of money and grab oversized soft drinks from the unwashed masses.

Bloomberg is skipping Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina which all occur next month to focus on Super Tuesday states. He is hoping that people in those states will have a higher familiarity with him being a lot of them LEFT New York because it kinda sucked — some of it due to him and his nanny approach of being the Mayor of the nation’s largest city.

According to Reuters

Ranked by Forbes as the eighth-richest American, Bloomberg has flooded U.S. airwaves and social media feeds with messages that he stands the best chance to beat Trump, spending more on campaign ads since he launched his campaign in November than his main Democratic rivals have over the last year.

“Number one priority is to get rid of Donald Trump. I’m spending all my money to get rid of Trump,” Bloomberg told Reuters aboard his campaign bus on Saturday, during a nearly 300-mile (483-km) drive across Texas, one of the 14 states that will vote on Super Tuesday on March 3.

“Do you want me to spend more or less? End of story.”

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, one of the leading Democratic presidential contenders who has vowed to get money out of politics, blasted Bloomberg when he launched his campaign with a $37-million TV advertising blitz, accusing the former New York City mayor of trying to buy American democracy.

As he says above, he is willing to spend some of that money above to “achieve” his goal. The New York Times reported yesterday he was willing to spend up to ONE BILLION DOLLARS of his own money to beat Trump.

However, he first has to beat the Democrats to win the nomination and he might have missed the memo on this but the current mood of the “active” base in the party is not in love with billionaires running for anything. Bloomberg currently places fifth in national polling behind Warren or Sanders, who, depending on the day, have the most enthusiastic supporters and energy going for them.

So Bloomberg running in these states as a New York moderate is only going to peel off Democrats who would be inclined to vote for Biden or the Mayor guy from South Bend that people kinda look at as an adorable choice — if no one else were running.

What that means, then, is Warren or Sanders becomes the nominee and Trump thumps them in the general election.

As Bloomberg says later in the Reuters article…

But not just the two liberal standard-bearers of Warren and Sanders, all of the four are too liberal to beat Trump, Bloomberg said.

“One of the reasons I’m reasonably confident I could beat Trump is I would be acceptable to the moderate Republicans you have to have,” said Bloomberg, a former Republican who made his fortune selling financial information to Wall Street firms.

“Whether you like it or not, you can’t win the election unless you get moderate Republicans to cross the line. The others are much too liberal for them and they would certainly vote for Donald Trump.”

You do need moderates to win. Yet you need a base of dedicated supporters to recruit them to your side. Bloomberg does not have a “base” of supporters and no, people who watch Judge Judy do not count. Liz and Bernie have people that would run through a wall for them (please do that also, literally.) Bloomberg has people he is going to pay to care and while that will be great for some political consultants’ bank accounts, it does not win elections.

All Micheal Bloomberg is doing here is spending some money to rent a bus for a tour across America. He has no core beliefs so he has nothing to fight for with any zeal. His dough blown on the gun control initiatives had almost zero effect nationally and his toying in the Democratic primaries won’t win him the nomination.

He increases the chances of Donald Trump winning which he says is not what he wants.

Unless, maybe, it secretly is.

If I were a Democrat and hated Donald Trump, I would be really ticked off right now.
