NY Dem Weiner: Health care ‘bill and I are one’

In an election cycle where Democratic campaign advertisement expenditures disparaging their party’s landmark health care overhaul is wildly outpacing pro-reform spots, one New York congressman is embracing a bold approach: Taking ownership of the health care reform bill.

“I wrote the bill,” Rep. Anthony Weiner said Monday at a town hall, referring to his party’s landmark reform of the nation’s health care system. “The bill and I are one.”

Despite hailing from a heavily Democratic district, Weiner’s admission is borderline masochistic, with recent polling indicating 53% of Americans now favor a repeal of the measure.

And while that metric has compelled a great number of Weiner’s otherwise liberal colleagues to abandon the president and the cause of reform in advance of this fall’s midterm elections, the Brooklyn Democrat is undeterred, one of only a handful of Democrats running on–and not from–health care.UPDATE: The website of Weiner’s GOP challenger, Bob Turner, can be found here.

Of all the descriptions of the Health Care Bill I’ve heard “whiny, sniviling, arrogant ass’ is a new one.

then he should suffer the same fate as it will. Only, maybe sooner?

or he is offering himself up as a sacrificial lamb for the Dems. Whichever it is, he just committed political suicide.

are incredibly stupid liberals. And he has a point, after all they have elected and reelected him.

Algor claimed he invented the internet – it’s really what his claims boiled down to.

Whiney Weiner now claims he wrote the bill – contrary to other claims from other Democrats about special interest/organization involvement.

Algor has refused to back away from his global warming/climate change schtick he’s invested so much in. Maybe like algor needing release for his chakra, whiney needs his condiments.

or is he just hot dogging?

So… that’s like some kind of liberal pseudo-religion? “You must become ONE with your legislation, grasshopper.”

I guess I’m not the only one who spotted his last name and cracked up. Of course, to be a frankfurter, the E and I must swap places. On that note, in my house, “wiener” is shortened to “wienie,” which means WUSS.

Also, when I typed “Weiner,” Firefox told me it was misspelled and suggested “whiner” instead…

Now you can use Weiner as a curse word while waiting in line for inferior care.

    He’s just being a self-important pompous arrogant jerk—-in short—himself.

and a stupid fool as there is no proof that his loser ideology has ever worked anywhere at anytime.

In his district if your not on the public “tit” there is something wrong with you. The court system in New York is just another shot at winning the lottery. This guy comes from a place that consumes everything, produces nothing, and ships their waste to other states or dumps it off shore. He is truly representing his constituency.

When Brooklyn votes to repeal health care or to uphold the constitution we will know conservatives have taken back America

Would you care to explain why you excluded a severability clause from the bill? Not that we are complaining about the oversight, of course, just wondering if you “are one” with what is to become the single most significant legislative omission in the history of our Nation?

    Oops, huh?
