Florida Dems mail GOP candidate’s social security number

In a state Democratic Party mailer that hit South Florida mailboxes last week, voters found an interesting figure on a top GOP House recruit: His social security number.

The Florida Democratic Party reproduced a 2005 tax lien–since paid–filed against Allen West for delinquent credit card bills. As the Palm Beach Post reports, the document contains the GOP hopeful’s social security number.

While the record does not identify the figure as such, West’s campaign manager said nine-digit figure is easily distinguished.

According to a 2002 survey by the Federal Trade Commission, Florida rated sixth nationwide in identity theft occurrences per-capita. That year, 16,062 Floridians were victimized; only three other states had a higher number of stolen identities reported.

The disclosure marks an “unprecedented new low in American, politics,” West said.

In 2005, Maryland Democrats released the same delicate information on Michael Steele, then the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. In 2008, the Alaska Democratic Party revealed the social security number of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

It’s like the Democratic establishment’s collective brain shuts down and their inner Bull Connor comes out when it comes to any Republican who isn’t a white dude.

Is this something that Republican candidates could sign onto for a class action lawsuit against all the state and national Democratic Party organizations and affiliates? Goal to require Democratic Parties to pay for Lifelock for all Republican candidates everywhere.

That said, I am thinking RICO. Put this together with false signatures on ballots, collusion with ACORN and SEIU, and you might have a case.

Any harm that would come to the canidate should be paid for by the party that stoops lower than one can imagine.

very strong federal laws to prosecute anyone who releases personal information like Social Security numbers even accidentally . Thie law allows not only for any bank, company or organization to be punsihsed it also allows prosecution of the individual employees who are responsible (although I’m not sure if this law only applies to those entrusted with this information or not).

If it has his SSN on it, then it is doubtful that this is public information. Sounds like this was leaked from some institution that was not suppose to give it out. Even if it did not have his SSN, sounds like private info that the Dem party should not be passing along. The SSN just makes it a stronger case.

lien IS public information. Though you would think the court and also the person obtaining copies of the lien etc. would have the responsibilty of redacting any personal information from the docuements before redistributing it. In most situations creditors must attach the lien to a persons SSN so it gets reported to the credit bureaus correctly and also makes sure they aren’t filing a lien against another person with the same name.

A tax lien is not issued for unpaid credit card bills. Tax liens are for unpaid taxes. He would have been sued by the creditor, and the creditor obtained a judgment, now paid. In 2005, it was permissible under Florida law for the debtor’s SSN to appear on the face of a judgment. The law was changed in 2007 or so; people’s social security numbers are not supposed to appear on public documents and there is a procedure to have the clerk redact the number if a document is filed with a full SSN.

None of that changes the fact the Florida Democratic Party sank lower by releasing this information.

It’s a judgement lien filed by the creditor and likely they attached to real property he owned at the time.

That said we can agree the Dems in FL who released it are scumbags.

A certain person they hold high has a filthy record of using SSNs. Financial crimes and money laundering are just some of the purposes of fraudulent SSN use.

ST. LOUIS A prominent figure in the Nation of Islam religious group admitted Thursday in federal court in St. Louis that he committed mail fraud using multiple Social Security numbers and names to apply for bank loans.
Officials said Akbar Muhammad hid debts from lenders who lost more than $323,000 in their dealings with him.

If you remember when Michael Steel was running for — the Senate? — in Maryland a few years back, and the Dems hacked into his personal financial records? There’s no filthy trick these retards won’t pull if it gets them votes. They have no scruples whatever. I’ve followed West’s campaign, sent him bucks when I could squeeze out a few, and I gather that he’s holding his own in FL-22. If he wins, he’s probably going to become a national profile if he hasn’t already become such.

But like any other insult we can dream up. it never can quite catch the filth & depravity of these sub-humans.
They don’t get called on publicly for stunts like this, and not being humiliated in mass media for their twisted natures, they only get
      worse.
They are now in the process of losing whatever was left of their twisted, tiny, minds.

      • soljerblue

the term just sort of popped into mind after reading an email from West’s campaign.

There are laws/regulations in place for organizations/business/non-profits/institutions that penalize for releasing such personal information as Social Security Numbers. This is gross misconduct of the state Democratic Party, and though I am not an attorney, I believe reason enough for David West to file suite for any/all damages including but not limited to funding his campaign.

    • soljerblue

his first name is Allen, not David. :-)
