CT GOV: Bag of Uncounted Ballots “Found”

Why Do We Let Them Do This?

UPDATE [H/T: Ace]: CT voter fraud caught on video …

… Mayor Jason McCoy has obtained a video that was taken inside a polling place in Bridgeport and shows a poll watcher warning a poll worker not to mix unofficial ballots with official ballots. She ignores him and he is escorted away.

There are additional charges:

  • Some voters were given more than one ballot
  • Other voters were not checked off on the registration list
  • Some voters were never asked for IDs

By the way, that bag of uncounted ballots was found where? In Bridgeport. What a coincidence, eh?

.
Well, this turn of events was completely totally gobsmackingly unexpected

PS: Just to be clear, that was sarcasm.

Democrats have apparently been uniquely blessed by Providence in being able to “find” just that right amount of extra uncounted ballots to upend a close race in their direction – amazing isn’t it? And interestingly enough, they always find them in the most innocent and miraculous of places, like union boss car trunks and Democrat operative closets.

And even more interesting, the middle-of-the-road, independent, strictly non-partisan media is always on hand to assure the electorate that there is a perfectly reasonable, innocent reason why the registered Democrat election official just happened to “forget” the bag of ballots in his basement.

And besides, they shriek in their editorials that strangely neglect to mention where and when these new uncounted ballots are found, shouldn’t every vote count? It’s just a perennial coincidence that at the exact same time Democrats are shrieking that Republicans objecting to the provenance of the ballots is “voter suppression” – because, of course, Racism™. And of course, it is all in our imaginations that newspaper editorials are all in favor of recounts (i.e. “every vote should count!”) when the Democrat is behind and all for the now “losing” candidate to accept the result and concede (i.e. “in the best interest of the state”) when the recount (and the miraculously “found” ballots) have vaulted the Democrat ahead.

All snark aside, though, this has to be stopped – they can’t keep doing this without any form of serious  pushback. In the 2008 MN Senate race it was done openly with the active cooperation of the MN Press Corps that ensured that the average voter never got a clear picture of what was going on. Worse is that Norm Coleman basically bent over and handed over the vaseline because, well, Bipartisanship™.

I hope the RGA sends troops down to CT (and MN) with instructions to play hardball. So far, the GOP’s tactic of weak objections and tail-tucked withdrawal in order to avoid accusations of “voter suppression” and “partisanship” by Democrat activists with newspaper columns has revealed itself to have no upside. As WA Republicans have learned, there is absolutely no guarantee that voters will remember and punish the Democrat later.

In other words, with the Press Corps actively helping by turning a deliberately blind eye, and the GOP cooperating by surrendering because so many of our weak sisters quail at the thought of confrontation and harsh words (which goes against the religion of Bipartisanship™), this has become a cost-free exercise for the other side.

So here’s my suggestion; hoist them on their own petard. Every time a union boss or Democratic activist *finds* a hitherto undiscovered ballot box or bag in his/her closet at home or his car trunk, Emmer and Foley should call Press Conferences and announce that some guy (coincidentally a Republican activist) has also “found” a missing ballot box miraculously misplaced somewhere and insist that it also must get counted and added to the tally.

This forces the issue of provenance out where the Democrats’ friends in the media can’t ignore it. If ballots found by Democratic activists after election day in their trunks should be counted then ballots found by Republicans in their basements should also be counted.

Bottomline; we need to start making election fraud a risky venture for Democrats, or else it’s just going to continue.

The NRCC refused to help her campaign, because they told her she wasn’t ready for prime time. On election night she was declared the winner. Not surprisingly, the Etheridge camp found just enough ballots, after the election, to push him into recount territory. Within hours, he called for a recount. We all know that recounts always come out in the Democrats favor. Ellmers asked the NRCC for financial help for the recount, and, they told her to go pound sand. After all, she was a Tea Party favored candidate. Oh, and, she wasn’t one of the “Young Guns.”

Yesterday a ‘misplaced’ bad with 7 votes, all for the opponent (D).
The race was close with (R) having a margin of 799 votes now 792.
I think here we will be ‘nickeled and dimed’ instead of the big boxes we used to get shipped in from Cameron County and Robstown.

  • Kyle-MI

It seems like a no-brainer to me. They should be working to eliminate election fraud and Democrats. It is a win/win situation for the GOP. It may not be popular with the MSM but it is proven time and again to be popular with the vast majority of voters. Even if it wasn’t popular, it would simply be the right thing to do.

  • red4ever

The Dems keep trying this tired old trick because it works. If it stops working, they will stop doing it.

There are rules for how ballots must be handled and secured. Everyone from Michael Steele on down to Joe Homeowner in the district needs to loudly and publicly call for proof of the chain of evidence. Who had this box from the second it went to the polling place until the moment it was handed over to be counted. All those who had any control over that box need to be deposed under oath as to what they did with it and what they saw happen with it.

In Bridgeport, it is especially troubling because they were using photocopied ballots anyway. So, whose to say they didn’t just happen to copy off a bunch of ballots conveniently marked D. Oh, and the Secretary of State (D) has already unofficially called it for the Dem, with the Repub leading in the vote count. That person needs to be removed for bias right there.

We are Republicans. We have lawyers. Use them.

    • edintexas

And you think they won’t lie? Like a certain former President didn’t lie when being deposed under oath and in front of the Judge?

      • red4ever

All it takes is one person who won’t “take one for the team.” Just one person taking the oath to tell the truth seriously is all it takes. Sure President Clinton lied and he got caught.

Believe it or not, there are people who won’t lie no matter what. Who might fudge a little but when things get rough, they won’t be part of the cover up.

  • JoeG

Heck, we should be able to make a bag of those in no time!

At least we have our ballots in a secrecy envelope and our name and signature on the outside of a second envelope. It allows some level of verifying the authenticity of “found” ballots.

Just plain paper, no names and check marks? Yeah, sure…

where ballots magically appear as well…

    and the dead win elections…

  • annas

Why Won’t Republicans fight this obvious fraudulent practice? What am I failing to see here? It seems a no brainer to me- refuse to count these “found” bags of Democrat votes. Who is responsible for just letting this practice go on election after election?

    • Ausonius

Martin Knight implies an answer to your question: GOP Professionals are afraid of the charge of “racism” and of the charge of “disenfranchising” poor people who might not “understand” English and “get confused” while they are trying to vote for a Dem.

They are also therefore afraid of the MSM, who they know will run with and blow up such a story, similar to the mass-rape-and-cannibalism stories from the New Orleans dome after Hurricane Katrina.

It is really that simple! They lack the courage to fight back with louder voices and with proof – which should be easy to obtain – and stop the fraud.

GOP Professionals apparently think we should just try to get used to fraud.

I have worked as a poll worker for 8 years. This election we had a huge number of “provisional” ballots. These are ballots where at the poll we can’t determine if the voter is qualified to vote. In this case we provide an envelope for the voter to provide all necessary identifying information so the information can be examined for validity before the ote is taken out and counted.

This year there were a large number of voters from other precincts. Many of them had pre-printed democrat who to vote for lists in their hands. Not the slick mailers that fill mailboxes this time of year but plain white paper list of candidates (I saw them when the voters placed them on the table while filling out the needed information).

I suspect some of these people were travelling to every precinct and voting provisionally. None of the elections in my area were close enough but I can imagine in a recount that the democrat would demand “every vote be counted,” including these provisionals, despite the lack of a voter registration.

If you can’t be bothered to get off your arse before the election and find your proper polling place, you’re too stupid to vote. Period.

I can see a point for “absentee” ballots, but they should require the same “chain of custody” as a regular ballot, i.e. someone from the polling authority must check your ID and ensure that you can’t vote at the precinct later.

      • The_Gadfly

The polling place I worked at this year had about 50 provisional ballots cast out of about 1200 votes. About 3/4 of them were from voters who checked the box to update their voter registration when they updated their license and registration information with the MVA (DMV for most of you I suspect) and the MVA failed to forward the information to the Board of Elections.

What I think really needs to end thoroughly corrupt practice of not allowing poll workers to even LOOK at state issued licenses at a polling place*. I’d say more than 60% of the people who walked in to vote had their driver’s license in hand as proof of ID because that is what they routinely expect for other things they do in their daily lives.

*Unless a “racist” poll watcher challenges them of course. But really, the process after that is driven to the same place it will go if they are unchallenged but can’t be identified in the rolls as registered in the district.

        • acat

The MVA will get a court order to “fix the system”.

how Dems and the LSM yammer about making every vote count, but it doesn’t. But in private when nobody has a microphone running they mostly seem to figure it:

            a) Doesn’t matter because the districts are so lopsided either the Democrat or the Republican* is going to win regardless,
            b) the voters were too lazy to actually file the right paperwork and are blaming it on the MVA rather than fessing up.

Given 50 provisional ballots, 1200 votes, and the margins of the electronic votes, option A pretty much nails it even though people don’t like to hear that.

*Yes MD has a small handful of Republican districts. They too are so lopsided it is almost impossible for an opponent to win.

  • johnt

vote, our dead vote. Let the media scream as they will, things have changed and advantages have to be utilized, it’s Tea Party time.
We can call it he Al Franken School of Democracy.
But it will be funny to hear the Dems roar in true rage at the turnabout, and they will be genuinely angry. It goes with being psycho.

  • talgus

to start finding (creating) lost ballots to pull out of our A** when the Democrats find their lost ballots.

…after Katrina, Dardenne DID HIS JOB and scrubbed the voter rolls, particularly in New Orleans. As a result, we’re running some of the cleanest elections in the country now.

You have to show a picture ID to vote here, at least at my polling place. We’re using state-of-the-art electronic machines. Our votes are in all over the state before midnight.

And the days of the New Orleans Machine Democrats being able to win statewide elections are over.

Dardenne just won a special-election race to become Louisiana’s Lt. Governor, and Wednesday he made another great move to prevent a Soros/Secretary of State Project drone from sneaking into that position; he delayed his inauguration until Nov. 22 so there won’t be a special election to replace him. His deputy Tom Schedler, who’s a solid conservative and a former state legislator, will hold the Secretary of State job as an appointee until the statewide cycle comes around next year.

Democrats generally can’t win statewide elections in Louisiana anymore. Our voter rolls are too clean.

It seems to me there is at least one man right now, Boehner and maybe 2, McConnell who can get media coverage virtually anywhere they want. I call on them and every Congressm and Senator to lead every single interview, with a call for investigation into this election and for the non-counting of found ballots. Nothing is more important than protecting the integrity of elections, it is the foundation of our democracy. Before repeal of health care, extension of tax cuts, taking discretionary spending to 2008, etc – is protecting the integrity of our elections and getting this election right.

If we cannot articulate that stuffing ballot boxes or mysteriously finding ballot boxes is more detrimental to the people’s right to have their vote counted than allowing ballots to be stuffed or allowing mystery ballots to be counted then what is the point.

This should be job 1 and no stopping till its corrected.

The following is a letter I sent to my representative, Sue Myrick. I would encourage everyone to do the same (in your own, most likely better, words). This has got to stop.

    ——————————–

    Rep. Myrick,

    Congratulations on your recent re-election.

I am writing to encourage you to lead an effort to eliminate voter fraud (sounds ambitious, I know). It seems that election after election, the Democrats manage to ‘find’ just enough votes to tip the balance in close elections. I’m more than a little disappointed that I’m not even asked for my id when voting in NC. I understand that this is an uphill battle but we need to expose the corruption currently occurring and put measures in place to prevent it.

I hope you will encourage your colleagues to make this a top legislative agenda. (I’m well aware that the Senate will likely not go along nor would the President but we need to put some attention on this issue.)

Frankly, this issue is as infuriating as the health care reform bill that was rammed through last year.

I look forward to your response and to seeing some action in the House in the near future.

You’re joshin’? How did it jump from $50K to $170K? As for her opponent…Could George Soros be behind the scenes?

“The Board of Elections in each county in the district are now counting 3,000 ?provisional ballots.? And, next Friday, each County Board (there are 10) will hold a ?canvas? to confirm the initial vote totals.

The good news is many of these ?provisional? ballots are in counties I won ? like Johnston County which I carried 64% to 34%.

The bad news is today our attorneys informed my campaign that by next Friday, we face $70,000 in legal bills. And, after Friday, we face another $150,000 in costs for the recount.

Before I say another word, I want to thank everyone who has responded to my appeal for help. People from across the nation have contributed and their gifts have allowed us to quickly put the team we need in place to insure a fair vote recount. I also want to thank ? from the heart ? Sarah Palin, who joined in asking people to help, Rush Limbaugh, who discussed our recount today on his program, and every blogger who?s posted an article asking people give to help me.
Many people have expressed their disappointment that the National Republican Congressional Committee refused to help. Well, as President Reagan used to say, Sometimes you have to make a politician feel the heat to see the light. Whether it is due to Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh or all the bloggers helping us, the NRCC has seen the light. They have wired my Recount Fund $5,000 and committed to help us raise money. I am grateful for their help and, from here, we take one step at a time.

Right now, I have two deadlines staring me in the face:

      1) I must be ready to pay our lawyers $70,000 for their work through next Friday.

      2) And, after Friday, I have to be ready to pay another $150,000 ? a total of $230,000.

So, as you can see, we?re a long way from meeting our goals, and, if you can, please send a contribution to the Renee Ellmers for Congress Recount Fund.

Right now, I have two deadlines staring me in the face.

When you think about it, here?s the bottom line: Congressman Etheridge has already announced he will call for a runoff. And if he returns to Washington it will be one more vote in Congress for Nancy Pelosi.”

    • Jack_Savage

This is a similar situation in NC 02, and this is Renee Elmers’ email re: costs…

  • jtlfrommd

man, $220K to recount ballots in 10 counties? Wow. I’m definitely in the wrong line of work. Also, for all of the crap that NRCC has taken the last couple of days, let’s give them credit for stepping up. We need this victory.

Because they can get away with it if the politically connected arm of the law refuses to enforce the law such as the O and the Black Panther’s high profile no brainer case…

Perhaps if the responsible arm of the law did it’s job correctly there would not be much of a problem.

The problem with the responsible arm of the law not acting properly is that it runs the risk of showing that the law is either a collusive sham shutting out an entire section of society or essentially nonexistent which can lead to people feeling disenfranchised and becoming a law unto themselves if no one else will enforce it properly.
