If you’re not up to speed, allow me summarize. Alan Grayson smeared his opponent as a draft-dodging American hater.

When challenged on the draft-dodger charge by Mediaite, Grayson’s spokesman asserted that ” “during Vietnam and the draft, there was a national call to serve for every eligible recruit. What FactCheck didn’t understand is that, because of the national call to serve at that time, every deferment Webster received before his ultimate classification is a refusal of that call to serve,” which may be news to Bill Clinton.

Grayson followed-up on his draft-dodging America-hater ad with the instantly infamous “Taliban Dan” ad posted above. An ad Grayson’s campaign created by deliberately misrepresenting Senator Webster’s words through creative editing.

We already knew Grayson was misrepresenting the Bible when it comes to this passage in the first place.

Now we know he was deliberately and calculatedly misrepresenting his opponents words in a crass and clumsy attempt to equate being Christian with being Taliban.

Now, I know how they’re going to defend themselves. Fake but true, à la Dan Rather. “Well sure, that’s not what he really said. But he WOULD have, because he’s a rightie and therefore hates women.” Allow me to retort: YOU LIED! Your campaign deliberately misrepresented facts, twice, to paint your opponent as an America-hating terrorist who dodged the draft and wants women to die, and quickly.

As I’ve outlined extensively today, Alan Grayson is a huckster playing bad boy for nutroots cash. Be it the questioning of patriotism, the equating with Nazism, or the labeling of terrorism, there’s no dance too garish for this shameless attention-whore to dance.

The question, Florida, is what are you going to do about it?
