James Cameron: Green For Thee

The video above, by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, shows the hypocrisy of the “carbon-intensive” lifestyle of green proselytizer James Cameron. Cameron recently dropped a million dollars into the Prop 23 fight. As Ann points out at BigGovernment, Cameron isn’t the only Prop 23 opposition financier living large.

It is typical of the hypocrisy of the “awareness” pimps on the left to ask of average Americans what they have no interest in doing themselves. We all know the green jet set won’t be surrendering their Humvee firetrucks (what the hell even is that?) any time soon. The most fundamental tenet of the church of environmentalism – and make no mistake, it’s a profitable church – is “ask not what you can do, but rather ask what you can ask others to do.”

We already knew James Cameron was a blow-hard coward. The video shows he’s also a hypocrite. So the next time Cameron tells you you’re going to have to live with less, just tell him you’ve opted to abstain from helicopters and yachts. It’s more than he’s done.

      His soon to be ex-wife lives up the 101 a few miles in Montecito. Gore I believe is going to end up with the Tennessee place which if memory serves is a huge blob on the local power grid.

    Maybe what James “king of the world” Cameron, Al “sex poodle” Gore and the other Hollywood elite snobs really wish to contribute to the radical left’s plant-saving religious movement is to overtly in-your-face their opulent lifestyles so that they can make all the rest of us mere commoners “green” with envy.

    Sheryl Crow and Robert Redford should form a commune. Let’s not mention Algore, who just built a mansion right on the beach in Santa Monica (clearly he’s not afraid of the polar ice caps melting, raising ocean levels to flood stage.)

    I’ll go on recycling and keeping the thermostat at 68 all winter. I’ll eat vegetarian meals, when I feel like it. I’ll ride a bicycle or walk when I feel like getting a good workout.

    But I’ll be damned if I’ll buy what these phoney tent-revival preachers are trying to sell me when they’re not soaking in the palace hot tub or taking the Escalade to the country club.

    I think I’ll go out in the garage and smash some more curly-cue light bulbs in their honor.

    An ENTIRE FLEET of submarines, Cameron?? Ask yourself, do I really need my own navy? There are poor people in third world countries who don’t even own a single one No wait, there are third world countries that don’t have a single one. I didn’t notice, but did you put a high horse out on the ranch that you can parade around on.

    How about I set up a service in which rich people swap paychecks with me, and in return I promise not to live quite as lavish a lifestyle as they would. They get to unload all of that guilt, while doing something good for Mommy Earth.

    Every one comes out a winner except me, cuz, ya know, I’d have too learn to make do with only 2 houses and no humvee firetruck (?!). It’s a tough job, but SOMEONE has to do it. I suppose I’d have to buy myself a second Ducati to ease my suffering but, hey, it’s for the Good Of The Planet ?

    I’ve heard of people living in those kind of conditions, but after seeing it with my own eyes the truth cuts my very soul. Quick, someone organize a telethon for poor James.

    Of course, no fossil fuels were used in the making of said sweet yacht. I’ve also always wanted my own helicopter & fire engineer Hummer. Both use solar power, right?

    Either way, it sounds like you have a pretty cool set up for a talented director who makes tons of money and needs to learn to shut the heck up when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

    Thanks to Ann and Phelim for doing this (and Caleb for posting it). This is a central characteristic of Hollywood’s so-called “Green” movement. People like Cameron, Barbara Streisand (who owns some nice Malibu spreads too), Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney and many more sermonize about other people should live with less due to environmental concerns, while they themselves live like Arab sheiks. Humvee-driving Arnold Schwarzenegger is another who falls into this camp. Yes on 23!
