Today is May 28th. Today is Memorial Day. Our front page today has several excellent posts honoring the holiday. In today’s header, I included the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, the emblem of the Marine Corps, my branch of service. But I truly honor and am grateful for the service of every single member of the United States Armed Forces, the world’s greatest fighting force. The Denver Post has a good slideshow of photos from the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery here. And in lieu of my usual “on this date” format, I’m including a tribute video that first ran at RedState on Memorial Day in 2011. Semper Fi!

Remembering our guardians at the gate | Rep. Allen West
“General Logan asked that we cherish ‘tenderly the memory of our heroic dead, who made their breasts a barricade between our country and its foes. Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES It sure seems that way. Christie is reportedly heading home to New Jersey to re-evaluate his candidacy. He was very clearly a dog backed into a corner in the New Hampshire debate, and he attacked who he saw as the biggest threat on the way to being the “Establishment” candidate – Marco Rubio. However, the strategy did not work, | Read More »
Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES Sadly, it appears that New Hampshire may have muddied the GOP field, rather than clarifying it. Even though Kasich and Jeb do not have obvious paths forward to the nomination, they are going to convince themselves that they do, at least through Super Tuesday – and they will probably find donors who will indulge that belief. Somewhere, Donald Trump | Read More »
Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES The GOP Establishment is bound to be looking at New Hampshire, a state where they perform well, seeing Donald Trump coming away with a major and distant first place, and weeping to themselves that their party has gone so terribly awry. There are a couple of things I’d like to say to them, but in the interest of keeping | Read More »
