On Obama’s ‘Trip to the Center,’ He Stumbles Over Planned Parenthood

In an interview with an NBC affiliate in Richmond, VA, President Obama responded to the recent vote to defund Planned Parenthood after a flood of videos exposed illegal activities taking place at their clinics including exhibiting a willingness to support sex trafficking of minors, secret abortions for minors, and giving “pimp” discounts.

“I think sometimes these issues get manufactured,” [Obama] said “they get a lot of attention in the blogosphere.”

It’s not particularly surprising that Obama would defend Planned Parenthood.  Obama is arguably the most pro-abortion president in American History.  As a state Senator in Illinois, he continually stalled legislation that would have prevented doctors from killing babies outside of the womb based only on the “mother’s” desire to not be “punished” by having children.

In light of the videos, Obama was quoted by NBC as saying:

“You know my bottom line is I think that Planned Parenthood in the past has done good work. If there was a specific problem at this center, it should be addressed, but we shouldn’t get so distracted with some of these issues.”

“Good work” is of course relative to your understanding of the word “good,” however the “work” speaks for itself.

In 2001, there were 1,291,000 abortions performed in the United States of which Planned Parenthood performed 16.5% (214,026).  As of 2008, the Guttmacher Institute reported that abortions nationwide were down to 1,212,400.  A modest decrease of roughly 6%.

In spite of that decrease, Planned Parenthood performed 324,008 abortions in 2008 to increase their share to 26.72% which is a whopping increase in total abortions of 52.1% from their 2001 numbers.

And these numbers are not disputed.  Planned Parenthood publishes their annual report each year touting the fact that only 3% of their services are abortions while conveniently omitting the fact that they currently perform 1 out of every 4 abortions in the United States.  One would assume that Planned Parenthood would agree to trust Guttmacher’s abortion statistics given all they’ve done together.

As the pundits and television commentators shower the president with praise for doing what is the smart and Clintonian strategy by wooing the “independent voter,” we should be reminded that, much as it was during the campaign, he can’t help but reveal who he is as well as what his agenda will be.  He’s telling America exactly what he thinks: taxpayer funded abortion on demand offered throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy is part of his vision for America.  Planned Parenthood is a willing and able partner in this vision and has done “good work” which should cause us to ignore their willingness to assist child sex rings in the hopes of scoring a few abortions.

Obama is not taking a trip to the center.  He’s just taking America for a ride.

I mean sick to my stomach, shocked, and fighting mad.

    “EFF” PP! Pull all funding!

1.2 Million abortions in 2008?? WTF??

Posturing and lies don’t count. Abortion in America, as constituted and financed, is ugly. Therefore why wouldn’t The O support it.
Obama, basking in the triumph of Wisconsin, next, Cementown Pennsylvania, after that Peoria, Napoleon taking the grand tour receiving the adulation of the huddled masses. You have to love the picture above, such stature, such magnificence. Barf !

The essential progressive view of abortion is that it has nothing to do with babies, no matter what else they say. To a progressive, an abortion only involves a woman and her doctor; not her husband (I’m sorry, did I say a bad word?) or parents if a minor child is pregnant. There is no baby, and, curiously, until a baby is born, there is no father. We see the inconsistency of that sentence, yet they don’t.

It doesn’t make sense to us, but they have to deeply believe this, else they would see themselves as monsters, which is what happens sometimes when the truth of abortion hits one of them.

To change the mind of an abortion proponent, you have to destroy his worldview, to which he clings with desperation.

As opposition to slavery intensified in the 1830s and beyond, supporters of slavery had to continually argue that slaves were not human to justify their support for the peculiar institution. Pro-abortion advocates continually have to argue that a fetus is not a human to justify their own positions.

When someone commits an evil act against another human being, the first line of justification is to some how de-humanize the victim. It is why pro-abortion supporters will not allow pictures or videos of aborted fetus to be shown in Congress. Which, is ironically similar to the gag rule Congress once imposed upon itself regarding the slave issue.

What we need is another John Quincey Adams who will refuse to be silent on the issue. Old Man Adament continually brought resolutions against slavery before Congress in direct violation of the gag rule. He suffered numerous threats but never backed down. We need more like him in that regard.

We need someone in Congress who persistently and forcefully shoves the moral wrong that is abortion in the faces of all, using the strongest imagery and techniques possible. Wilberforce showed people the inside of slave vessels: where are our Senators and Congressmen showing the “results” of abortion out in the media, among the populace, and through viral networking?

Wilberforce is one of my heroes. I would gladly welcome another one.

Two of the strengths of Willberforce is that he surrounded himself with people just as dedicated to the cause as he was and he willingly risked his reputation to get the job done. It also doesn’t hurt when John Newton is your spiritual mention and ally.

but I don’t think any sane person in this country wants to go down THAT road.

You are right on that one. A civil war over abortion would not be a regional conflict but would literally pit neighbor against neighbor. You would have some clear strongholds on either side but no clear boundaries for most of the country. It would rip states, cities, and towns apart. The closest example would be “Bloody Kansas” in the 1850s.

“you’ve reached PP in _______, we are unable to come to the phone right now. We are with a client with her pimp lying and cheating and covering up rape and underage sex or chopping up children, leave us a message and we will do everything in our tax payer funded power to return your call to make sure we kill more babies today, come hell or high water.”
Yea boy, they are really doing some good stuff huh, Mr. President! I guess if you are someone who believes babies are a punishment then you would defend these sorry evil, souless heartless “people”! CONTEMPTABLE” my pure hate grows daily for those who keep killing and those who LOVE AND DEFEND THE KILLING!

…and frankly, given his crazy childhood and youth, which very likely included abuse as well as neglect, it’s not surprising he would have anger issues.

Although it’s horrifying, sick and dysfunctional — and I’m sure not excusing it — I can understand, strictly as a psychological phenomenon, his anger toward whitey, his anger toward middle-aged women, his anger toward capitalism, his anger toward Britain, etc., etc.

BUT WHAT THE HECK DOES HE HAVE AGAINST INNOCENT BABIES? WHAT DID THEY EVER DO TO PISS HIM OFF SO BAD?
