It seems that Mr. Paul has a message for the masses as we enter the 2012 Republican primary season:
Now where have we heard that before?
For anyone who has ever questioned the importance of precincts and their role within the GOP infrastructure, consider this: Do you want our party primaries to be ruled over by men and women who look up to this?
I think we should take Congressman Paul’s advice. Go here to learn the ropes on how to get out there and get involved in your precinct to shape the Republican party into something that we believe in. Because if we don’t …
…someone else might.

jwebb (Diary) Tuesday, March 22nd at 10:06AM EDT (link)I am a PC in the Ronulun Overlord’s district. Last cycle the push was on to ‘take over’ the local GOP. They recruited any warm body they could to fill PC seats and won quite a few. Except for a few new Ronulun-recruited members who turned out to be OK, there are two types of Ronulun PCs. Those that come to monthly meetings to spout literal insanity yet never do any actual work, and those that don’t ever show up, denying us a quorum to conduct important business. If they manage to ‘take over’ expect the GOP to become even more pathetic and ineffectual.
Ben, I am so glad you put this up
lineholder (Diary) Monday, March 21st at 6:17PM EDT (link)I’ve been doing some research lately, and there are comments all over the net from RP supporters who claim that they are going to “take over” the Republican Party. High number of these in Alaska, BTW.
Glad to see it being stated. Thanks.
He couldn't be any more of a nutjob than the nutjob that's in the White House right now!
rickbull Monday, March 21st at 9:02PM EDT (link)Thanks for posting this, Ben, and let’s pray that the Republicans don’t make as big a mistake in 2012 as the Democrats made in 2008.

Wow.
Leon H. Wolf (Diary) Monday, March 21st at 9:16PM EDT (link)I had always assumed that Ron Paul was not behind his followers’ attempts to dishonestly hijack the GOP, but I guess this has put that to rest. I didn’t think it was possible, but I hate him even more.

We can’t stop here. This is bat country.
To all the people who criticize Ron Paul for running as a Republican...
zizzer Tuesday, March 22nd at 12:06AM EDT (link)Would you rather he ran as an independent and took a significant chunk from the GOP in the 2012 general election?
Yeah, particularly when the giant space hamsters...
Moe Lane (Diary) Tuesday, March 22nd at 12:46AM EDT (link)…pop out of hyperspace right afterward and start converting Saturn’s rings into a giant Habitrail. Then things will *really* start looking bad for the GOP.
Geez, you’d think that the RP people would try a different tactic this go-round.

And we have been trying for years to get rid of him and his followers so please fill us in on how to accomplish that.
I think he could have an effect.
zizzer Tuesday, March 22nd at 1:46AM EDT (link)Especially considering Obama’s approval rating could be low and there are really no impressive GOP contenders. But whether he has an impact or not, I would rather him run as an independent. I want a fiscally conservative president, and I’m not going to get that from a party who only proposes about $60 billion of cuts to shore up a $1.6 trillion deficit.

streiff (Diary) Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:05AM EDT (link)even though David Duke had a lot of supporters the GOP made the principled decision to toss his nasty butt out of the party. We need to do the same for Ron Paul.

What are your really worried about Ben?
seedplanter Tuesday, March 22nd at 11:23AM EDT (link)I think your dislike of Ron Paul is just your excuse. You and most Americans are really worried about facing the truth, the painful cuts we must make to save America. The clock is ticking http://www.usdebtclock.org/ yet you provide nothing new. We need activists and leaders who have the guts to make serious changes, now.
Ron Paul
janesmoote Wednesday, March 23rd at 9:21AM EDT (link)has a lot of followers. He won the CPAC Straw Poll. Though he won it last election, too so this doesn’t mean he will win.
