Not Fit for MSNBC: Alabama GOP Presents Award Officially Declaring Trump 'One of the Greatest' Presidents

Here’s something you don’t see every day.

In Alabama, the Republican Party passed a resolution naming Donald John Trump as “one of” American history’s “greatest and most effective” presidents.

On Saturday night, the group presented a copy to the Big Cheese himself.

The framed award — given to Trump at his Palm Beach, Florida-based Mar-a-Lago resort — begins thusly:

Whereas, President Donald J. Trump was one of the greatest and most effective presidents in the 245 year history of this Republic…

The document goes on to credit the former Commander-in-Chief with the following:

  • Putting the American people and the American worker first
  • Delivering a COVID-19 vaccine in record time
  • Enacting the largest tax cut in history
  • Withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership
  • Pulling out of NAFTA
  • Standing up to China
  • Signing the United States-Mexico Trade Agreement
  • Leaving the Paris (climate) Agreement
  • Accomplishing record-low unemployment
  • Appointing three conservative Supreme Court justices
  • Bolstering the military
  • Exiting the Iran nuclear deal
  • Restoring America’s standing in the world
  • Moving the U.S. Embassy to Israel
  • Initiating the Israel-UAE accord

And the biggie…

Where as, President Trump accomplished more in 48 months than Joe Biden did in 48 years as a senator and vice president.

Notably absent from the group observing all the above: CNN and MSNBC.

“Now therefore, be it resolved,” the gift says, “by the Alabama Republican Executive Committee that President Donald J. Trump is highly honored and commended, and that this resolution is offered to him in deepest appreciation for his dedication and sacrifice to our country in order to ‘Make America Great Again.'”

Former state Rep. Perry Hooper Jr. explained the point of the gesture to Fox News:

“The resolution, basically, it just talks about the greatness of Donald J. Trump, how he made America great again and I hope other states will follow suit.”

Surely actor Jon Voight’s a fan of the recognition — the Oscar winner previously himself declared Trump the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln”:

Not everyone online was stoked over the award:

I’m sure you’re familiar with that debate

All of the above — and the ceremony in Florida compared to legacy media’s portrayal of POTUS 45 — serves as a reminder that we may just be a very fractured country.

Where history and government are concerned, will we ever again agree upon general truths, enough to be One Nation Under God?

Either way, Alabama’s GOP has made clear its position.

I predict some similar awards for Joe Biden — during and after his presidency — by those across the aisle.
