Trump's Alma Mater Goes for Woke Olympic Gold With New Degree Program

In just a short time, education has radically changed — wokeness is now fueling America’s academic fire. Apropos of culture’s hottest trend, an elite business school has launched a new degree program.

The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business is as esteemed as they come. As you may know, it’s Donald Trump’s alma mater. It’s also lunging toward a modern mode, hence its new announcement.

“Beginning academic year 2023-2024,” the school’s website heralds, the “MBA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Major” will be rolled out.

Included courses:

  • Business Economics and Discrimination
  • Big Data, Big Responsibilities
  • Leading Diversity in Organizations
  • Reforming Mass Incarceration and the Role of Business
  • Influence
  • Prison Education
  • Power and Politics in Organizations

One might expect business — a realm based in practicality and profits — to escape the clutches of wokeness. But for the aspiring DEI officer, enlightenment is big business.

Behind most every woke decision is an officially credentialed advocate — or a committee of them. Call it a booming industry:

Salary.com relays the incentive to pursue DEI:

The average Chief Diversity Officer salary in the United States is $227,900 as of September 26, 2022, but the range typically falls between $196,200 and $275,700. Salary ranges can vary widely depending on many important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, the number of years you have spent in your profession.

It pays to be a bureaucrat, and positions designed to discover problems and solve them are — it seems — never declared obsolete. The world has unlimited horrors in need of address. And to DEI officers’ benefit, at issue are three separate categories to be mined for evident relevance: If you can’t presently justify your job with diversity concerns, turn your attention toward equity. We’ll never attain a perfect state of sameness, so the work is ongoing.

As for general wokeness, as a school, Wharton is late to the party:

We’re living in a new world. The old virtues have been replaced, as have the outdated enemies. We’re engaged in a fight for justice, of the social variety. And our warriors leading the charge are highly-paid officers. So get your master’s in DEI — although those who do will probably soon cancel the designation of “master’s.”
