New DNC chief needs refresher on Obama health care program

President Barack Obama on Tuesday tapped Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to succeed former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine atop the Democratic National Committee after its members gather later this month.

The Florida firebrand was an obvious choice for Obama, who faces a contentious re-election bid next year and counts Wasserman Schultz among his fiercest defenders. But the president’s new attack dog’s talking points don’t always jibe with reality.

One year to the day before named as Obama’s choice to steer the national party, Wasserman Schultz insisted at a town hall in her south Florida Congressional district the president’s health care reforms included no mandate for individuals to purchase health insurance.

“You can feel free to choose not to carry health insurance, that’s just going to be reflected in the tax category that you’re in on your tax return,” Wasserman Shultz said. “There is no requirement in this law that you must carry health insurance.”

But bill for which Rep. Wasserman Schultz voted includes language mandating individuals certify annually to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) acceptable health coverage beginning in 2013.

“An applicable individual shall for each month beginning after 2012 ensure that the individual, and any dependent of the individual who is an applicable individual, is covered under minimum essential coverage for such month,” the law reads.

Those who maintain an unacceptable level of coverage, or none at all, will have a tax penalty levied annually.

    You meant “jibe”, not “jive.”

    Who cares about the DNC?

Beck’s show getting canned is bigger news than this!

The left wants to put it that way, but in reality he and his media company are going to work together on new shows and projects. Btw, a big wig at Fox is moving to his media company.

The show will not end for a few more months. His radio show will stay.

Note: I am not a fan of his tv show, but it bothers me when the MSM flat out lies.

Forgot to add that it is Fox that will be working with Beck on new shows and other media.

With all the bail out money, union payoffs , TARP,stimulus and all the other tens of billions of dollars that Obama has thrown his supporters Wasserman Schultz does not so much have to raise money as just collect all the kickbacks from everyone who received Obamabucks. Think of it. AARP,the UAW, SEIU,AFSCME, the NEA, the AFT, the AFL-CIO, GE and so on and so on. It will be a tsunami of cash and don’t expect the FEC to be watching to hard.

The fact that she will be very polarizing and completely hostile to pretty much everybody on the right and anyone isn’t an MSNBC fan won’t make much of a difference. She also doesn’t really need to get her facts right because that doesn’t matter when you work for the Won.
Who will call her on it besides the internet and maybe Fox News…?

The job is to raise money and she can do that and there will be plenty of it.
People have used the billion dollar number for Obama’s 2012 war chest but I think it will go much higher to maybe two billion because people will understand what will happen if he loses. The river of govt. cash will dry up and they don’t want that.

Add into that all the free good press all his usual media hacks will give him. It will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. They will savage his rival like you have never seen. They have already doubled down on lying for the guy and covering his backside so why stop now…? They couldn’t care less if they lose ratings as they are all already rich.
They look at it as war and if the GOP ain’t prepared to go nukular they will get steamrolled.

      we don’t deserve this Republic.
He is our frankenstein. It is our cross to bear.
To list the order of battle of our enemies is truely an exercise in frustration, anger, anxiety and fear. But a necessary one!
I volunteer to sacrifice at least as much (non-violently!) as a marine on omaha beach on june 6, 1944

DWS is the perfect person to lead the DNC. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about and lies easily. What’s not to like? She’ securely tethered to magical thinking.

Is this really who the Dems want as the face of their party? I understand she’s quick on her feet, but she’s physically unattractive and, even worse, her voice is terrible. Whenever I hear her speak, it sounds to me like she just chewed a handful of saltines. It’s painful listening to this woman talk. I understand there is a dearth of attractive women in the Democrat party, but they’ve got to have someone better than Wasserman Schultz.
