Why Big Government is Bad Government

The latest video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity explains how excessive government spending undermines prosperity. Watch and learn!

As Blayne Bennett of Students for Liberty explains: “Even one hundred years ago, governments were able to finance their economic output based on a very small tax burden. The imposition of income taxes, however, enabled politicians to engage in vote buying behavior.”

Of course, you’re all part of changing that. As the saying goes, in the old days politicians promised to use earmarks in order to get elected — now they promise they won’t use earmarks to get re-elected.

They are still listening to their constituents.
This is only temporary re the Patriot Act, but interesting.

Boehner sent three bills in on the fast track, 26 voted against, leaving it 7 votes short to pass. Did you read that the sticking point for some of those who voted against was the FBI access to medical/business info?

Why would the FBI need access to medical info?

I don’t know how these kinds of records have been used in the past, but medical records can be revealing at times, especially if there is any psych evaluation info included in them. I wonder how they got past HIPAA on that one????

Boerhner’s set to send the legislation back through later this week on the slow track, and the chances are pretty high that it will pass.

The Irish crisis is due to their government’s bailing out the country’s banks, not to excessive spending on entitlements. Ireland has one of the more modest levels of entitlement in the European Union. Prior to 2008 Ireland had a low taxation rate and a budget surplus.
