Protesters Storm Capitol in Wisconsin (Video)

The MacIver Institute’s Bill Osmulski was in the thick of it in Wisconsin tonight as protesters rushed into the state capitol building, protesting that the state is now one of 25 others to limit collective bargaining rights for public employees — placing them far ahead of the bargaining rights of federal workers and workers in other states. For actual analysis on what went down, read the insights of Mickey Kaus.

Remember when crazed Tea Partiers did this, bumrushing the U.S. Capitol with flipcams aloft?

(Oh, wait, that was called an election.)

…in this video don’t look like unionistas, they look like college kids pining for the legend of Woodstock.

Can you imagine the news coverage if these people were Tea Partiers and behaving in the manner of these people?

It would be on the “news” 24/7.

is the National Guard. I don’t care what the union thugs look like, I’m asking why Walker has allowed all this to escalate as he has without making some arrests. Cuomo in NY made 17 arrests of protesters for BLOCKING THE ENTRANCE TO THE STATE CAPITOL. Don’t they have disturbing-the-peace ordinances in Wisconsin? This makes me sick–because it plays into the left’s hands. Some here think their bad behavior plays into our hands–it doesn’t! It makes us look too weak to impose order. The public despises disorder above all else and will blame the GOP for this. It never should have gotten to this point. Make some damn arrests!!!!

It seems Gov Walker is a little behind the curve on anticipating the lefts penchant for trouble.

You’re looking at it. An unwillingness to fight. The people showed their fury in a wave election. But you’d never guess it looking at the GOP. I can’t stand these nice guys–Walker, Ryan, Boehner–they’re cut from the same wimpish cloth–too high-minded to rough it up. This could have been settled weeks ago–had Walker the fight and the foresight necessary. Instead we’re getting escalation and a political backlash.

If someone is killed by these morons, all bets are off.

Your childrens’ education is too important to be left to the government schools. Are these your kids’ teachers? Time to pull your kids out of the government schools… it wil be one of the best things you ever do for them.

Seems time to move the legislature on toanother venue — like in the middle of a Nat Guard camp. Seems the thugs flaw is the legislature can probably convene elsewhere if need be. So long as a quorum can be reached.

The thugs sure aren’t doing themselves any favors… IMHO, time to start issuing the pink slips…

The barristas at a lesbian fair trade coffee collective look less mangy than this group. They do look quite young though, and it really looks like hardly a one of them has any actual taxable income. Just saying.

It is time to put an end to this. The Democrats fled the State instead of doing their job and should be recalled. The Republicans did what had to be done and should be applauded. If the Democrats were to win this, they would run out of State everytime they did not agree with what Gov. Walker does. That is not the way to do things. We all support Governor Walker and the Union thugs should go home. SOWA1

on the recall of those who no longer live in the state.

Give Walker a break. He knows the voters in that state better than we do. His offers to talk to them, etc now look brilliant. I think his instincts are excellent and he is playing this the best way he knows to play it.

There is value in letting these now marginal protesters blow off steam. The protests are now the freak crowd that everyone in the state sees on their TV every night. The Dems now look even worse – childish and undemocratic.

As the reality of the inevitability of the law in place takes root daily, this crowd will diminish. Then their energies will go into recall efforts which will take as long as it takes for Walker to put the fiscal affairs in order.

Walker wins. Tea Party wins. Voters win. Business wins. The unemployed wins.

nothing to do with Wisconsin. They are the brass knuckles on the groud.

Waiting for Obama to open his piehole and comment, on wrong side, of course, and insinuate himself in the STATE’s issue once again in 3…2…1

They are after all, his voting base.

    voter fraud and union connection?

What’s democracy for if not to be destroyed when things don’t go your way? Maybe the union thug/scum had to get back to work, at least for a day or two, and the youth auxiliary thug/scum filled in.
