Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently agreed to do an interview with Tucker Carlson, but there was just one catch.

According to Carlson, Johnson demanded a cool one million dollars in return for an exclusive interview about the war in Ukraine.

The discussions began after Johnson, who is a vehement advocate of funding the Ukranian war effort, publicly denounced Carlson for his interview with Vladimir Putin, describing it as a "ludicrous" piece of journalism.

“Around the world, people are watching that ludicrous interview with Vladimir Putin conducted by Tucker Carlson, and we must not fall for this tissue of lies above all for the notion that Putin is somehow fated to succeed in Ukraine. On the contrary, he is doomed to failure,” Johnson said in a video aftet the interview went out.

Carlson has now revealed that he reached out to Johnson for an interview following his Putin scoop but his request returned with a hefty price tag.

He told The Blaze host Glenn Beck:

I was annoyed, and so I put in a request for an interview as I have many times because he's constantly denouncing me as a tool of the Kremlin. He says no. Finally, one of his advisors gets back to me and says, 'He will talk to you, but it's going to cost you a million dollars.' He wants a million dollars.

Carlson went on to call out Johnson for his own role in propagating the ongoing conflict, which involved persuading Ukranian President Zelensky not to sign a peace treaty with Putin.

He continued:

This is, by the way, the guy who single-handedly, at the request of the U.S. government, stopped the peace deal in Ukraine a year and a half ago, and is, I think, for that reason, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands people. He won't explain any of that to me in an interview until I pay him a million dollars.

...

Putin didn't ask for a million dollars! So, you're telling me that Boris Johnson is a lot sleazier, a lot lower than Vladimir Putin! Which is true! So this whole thing is a freaking shakedown!

Such behavior is unfortunately typical of Johnson, who having won a landslide victory in the 2019 general election went on to govern from the left and oversaw one of the world's most prolonged lockdown regimes.

Since he was ousted from office in 2022, Johnson has wasted no time in pursuing lucrative speaking engagements and lucrative deals with newspapers such as The Daily Mail.

Carlson, meanwhile, concluded by accusing Johnson of financially benefitting off the war in Ukraine.

"This is a money laundering operation," he explained. "A lot of the people involved in it are taking money from it. And if you're making money off of war, you can deal with God on that because that's really immoral — like, that's actually really really wrong. And a lot of people are, including Boris Johnson."
