NYPD Delivers Incredible Response to AOC Crying About Police Response to Pro-Hamas Protests

Clashes between police and pro-Hamas fanatics have broken out on college campuses across the United States. Some have been more vigorous than others, with Texas DPS showing how it's done on Wednesday to the howls of the far left.

Things have been a bit more gentle in New York, where Columbia University has sought to negotiate with those illegally "occupying" the school's common area while blocking Jews from entering buildings. That has produced the expected result of simply emboldening the pro-terrorist factions.

Still, the NYPD has been on the scene in some capacity in an attempt to keep the peace, with their mere presence sending Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez into a fit of rage.

I know Ocasio-Cortez was a bartender, so far be it from me to question her intelligence, but when the "protest" at Columbia is being held in support of a terrorist group, it would seem rather logical that counterterrorism units would be involved. I also fail to see how it's a horrific decision to mobilize the police against masses of people illegally trespassing while harassing others with genocidal threats.

Columbia is a private university. It has the right to maintain order on its campus. If these pro-Hamas lunatics would like to "protest" and set up an "encampment," they are welcome to do so with a permit on a public sidewalk. Contrary to some absolutist claims, there is no right to protest on private property to the detriment of other students who paid to be there.

Besides, who is Ocasio-Cortez? Is she a state official? Does she have any jurisdiction over Columbia or the NYPD? Why does she think the law doesn't apply to terrorist supporters? Those questions bring me to this incredible response from the NYPD Chief of Patrol (i.e. the NYPD's normal police force).

Truly amazing! Columbia decided to hold its students accountable to the laws of the school. They are seeing the consequences of their actions. Something these kids were most likely never taught. Good SAT scores and self-entitlement do not supersede the law. I am sure you would agree that we have to teach them these valuable life skills.

Secondly, I was with those “units” last Thursday that you describe as having, “the most violent reputations.” These “units” removed students with great care and professionalism, not a single incident was reported.

The only incidents that day on campus were the student's hateful anti-Semitic speech  and vile language towards our cops. I am sure you agree any hateful speech is unacceptable. You should rethink your comments to a simple thank you to the NYPD and hate has no place in our society.

Maybe you should walk around Columbia and NYU and listen to their remarks of pure hatred. I will ensure those “units” will protect you as they do for all NYers 24/7/365.

Lack of accountability = consequences

Hate from anyone, anywhere has no place in our city and country.

I love the line about "Good SAT scores and self-entitlement" not superseding the law. For many of these pro-Hamas "protesters," they have never faced real consequences in their lives. Most of them come from privileged backgrounds (i.e. why they are at a place like Columbia in the first place) where they were pampered and told their opinions are preeminent. They aren't, and the real world has come knocking courtesy of the NYPD.

The only problem here is that the NYPD appears to be hamstrung by city leaders and university officials who think appeasement is the way to stop this chaos. That won't work, as evidenced by the fact that it's not working. Until these pro-Hamas contingents are arrested, charged, and expelled (if they are students), they will keep pushing the envelope. Meanwhile, peace and harmony will continue to exist in red states that don't put up with this stuff.
