Planned Parenthood Trying to Rebrand Itself As a Go To for Anything Except Abortions

Planned Parenthood, despite his $500 million-plus taxpayer funding, extensive political influence, and near religious activist ground troops is not doing so hot in the PR department.

Due to a mixture of science lending to the horror that abortion is, a populace increasingly fed up with government expenditure, a massive undercover sting that exposed the organization for the butcher shop it actually is, and a new generation not seeing eye to eye with the abortion zealots pushing the issue on them, Planned Parenthood is losing power.

Thus, Planned Parenthood brass has decided it’s time it tried to distance itself from what it primarily does, and focus on the things that don’t involve abortion, even if what they’re saying they also do is a lie.

In their latest ad, Planned Parenthood has a number of people from all walks of life talking about how they have so much more to do in their lives, and can’t be weighed down by something else. The viewer is meant to think they’re talking about a baby, but then the video Shyamalans you with a twist. They were talking about other things like flu shots, breast exams, etc.

Problem is, Planned Parenthood’s other services are hardly a blip on the radar, they’re performed so infrequently. Compared to how often it does abortions, it’s like comparing a mouse to the obvious and apparent elephant in the room that Planned Parenthood is trying to pretend isn’t a big deal. As Secular Pro-Life says in their blog:

It’s true that Planned Parenthood occasionally extends its reach into primary care—but only occasionally. In its own annual report (page 30), flu shots, asthma care, and diabetes screenings aren’t even common enough to warrant their own categories.* They instead fall under the category of “Family Practice Services,” and Planned Parenthood only offered such services 33,060 times in the 2014-2015 audit year.

That same year, it committed 323,999 abortions. At Planned Parenthood, abortion is ten times more common than primary care. That probably has something to do with the fact that Planned Parenthood requires every affiliate to commit abortions, while no such mandate exists for legitimate health care. And of course, this video fails to acknowledge the obvious: the federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) that pro-life groups want to fund instead of Planned Parenthood offer primary care to a much greater extent than PP ever will.

Let’s also mention that video straight up lies in some portions. One of the myths pushed by this video is that Planned Parenthood doesn’t do too much when it comes to breast exams. Women who want cancer screenings have to be directed elsewhere. You don’t have to believe me, this comes out of the mouth of Planned Parenthood’s president, Cecile Richards, herself.

Furthermore, as Secular Pro-Life pointed out, FQHC’s are far better at giving out primary care, but on top of that, the regular clinics outnumber Planned Parenthood locations 20 to 1.

In short, Planned Parenthood is trying to put on a very flimsy plastic to cover the fact that there’s a monster behind it. Planned Parenthood can paint itself a different shade as much as it wants, but the fact is, it’s an abortion factory. Nothing more, nothing less.
