God Is Not up for Reelection

It’s going to be a high-anxiety kind of day and for obvious reasons. The leader of the free world is about to be decided and the choices have never been such polar opposites.

For the first time, the choice between capitalism and socialism has never been so clear. The choice between freedom and tyranny has never been so apparent. The candidates have done all they can to make their cases for their respective ideologies. The vast majority of America already knows who they’re going to pull the lever for.

At this point, it’s a waiting game.

For those of you voting for President Donald Trump, I wish I could tell you the future and say that he’s going to win. I can’t. At this point, the information being thrown around is so confusing and I’m not even sure I buy the polling numbers myself. The only thing left to do is vote, wait, and pray.

But if you pray and the leader of the free world should still be Kamala Harris (let’s not kid ourselves) then let’s remember that no matter what, God is still in control.

God is not up for election, and He certainly isn’t going to be removed from office by some lame impeachment attempt. America may be a constitutional republic but it falls under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of God. No amount of socialism injected into the American system can change that, and no amount of forbidding churchgoers from attending service stops him from being the one true King.

God is bigger than all of this. Compared to His rule, we may as well be electing the line leader in Kindergarten class.

So don’t take to worrying too much. For one, worrying won’t change anything. It’ll only turn your hair gray, give you a headache, and for some of you, make you stress eat. Worry and anxiety are, for the most part, worthless emotions. Extra baggage to take on your journey that serves no real purpose.

Christ was never one for worrying and he urged his followers against it.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” Christ said.

He later followed that up with something that I’ve carried with me for some time.

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Christ asked.

A poignant question and a good time to consider it.

I want Trump to win very badly. I fear for the future of this country if he doesn’t. I’ve seen what the Democrat Party has become, what it cheers for, what it excuses and turns a blind eye to, what it promotes in terms of right and wrong, seen how it lies and where it chooses to be truthful. I’ve seen what their followers do for fun and how they justify harming their fellow man.

I’ve watched them do great evil and then ask for applause. I’ve watched them get caught and demand they be apologized to.

Yes, it’s true, there’s a decent chance that these very people could be in charge of running our country and should they be elected, we should fight them with every ounce of our being.

However, they’re not really in charge. There’s a much grander presence at work and He has a plan that cannot be deviated from, denied, or bent. He is in charge. He, who created the cosmos and you, is sitting on the only throne that lasts. The only one that matters.

Let not your heart be troubled. All things are as they should be, and while it may result in some very hard times that shake your faith and make you question Him, just know that He has this. No matter your journey, your final destination is greater than you can ever imagine.

Pray and act. It’s the two things that those who oppose Him hate the most. Pray and act.
