Backlash to the Parental Rights Bill in Florida Shows Dems Should Strongly Reconsider Their Party Affiliation

Democrats aren’t doing themselves any favors as of late when it comes to endearing themselves to the people of America. Hard as they try, their tried and true methods of convincing the populace that they’re the good guys isn’t working as well as it used to, and people are starting to see through their nonsense.

A big piece of that nonsense comes in the form of how Democrats seem to view America’s children. They seem to have this overbearing sense that they somehow know better than the parent does about what should and shouldn’t be allowed in schools, and in some cases, what should be allowed in the home. If you’re an avid RedState reader, you’ve likely seen one example after another of public educators and education bureaucrats attempting to enforce some sort of bizarre and fringe ideas on students, and defying angry parents who come to school board meetings to tell them they’re wrong.

Nevertheless, they persist. Despite repeated outings and bad PR, Democrats continue to make your children their jurisdiction.

In Florida, the state has made it clear that public educators are not in charge of the child, the parent is. One of the points of the bill is to protect children from identity politics or sexual education to children from the third grade down. It’s a common-sense thing to do, as children should be more focused on learning to read, write, do math, and learn a bit of history appropriate to their age group.

Yet as Democrats in office tell it, kids should be learning about everything concerning gender identity and sexuality from the get-go. The reasons why include “inclusivity” and “acceptance,” but to those paying attention, it seems a whole lot more like grooming than education. Regardless, if you’re a parent you want your child learning how to become a well-educated adult, not a social justice activist. This bill in Florida lends to that need.

Naturally, Democrats decided to lose it and began throwing around accusations that the bill prohibits educators from saying the word “gay.”

It does no such thing. In fact, the word “gay” isn’t mentioned in the bill at all.

Something tells me that Democrat politicians know that. They’re well aware of what it does and doesn’t do — they just don’t care. Facts aren’t the point. The point is control, and if they can generate enough outrage, they may be able to get more of it by turning you against those evil, homophobic Republicans.

So they did what Democrats do, and they proceeded to create an issue that doesn’t exist to push a narrative that isn’t real. Thus they began calling it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, and now everyone is saying “gay” to Republican politicians in order to get back at them. They’re even putting together little musical numbers with LGBT activists.

Democrat or Republican, you should be asking why they feel the need to do this. The entire point was to keep sex and sexuality away from you small child, and yet they’re trying to make it out as if Republicans are preparing to outlaw homosexuality. They are literally fighting against protecting your child from something they’re not ready for yet.

The bottom line is that this move from Democrats is beyond troubling, and voters should be highly concerned about the Democrats pulling out all the stops to create this narrative.

It’s likely they’re doing this to create false hatred around Gov. Ron DeSantis, who poses an increasingly large threat against them in 2024’s presidential elections, but even if it is that and not an attempt at grooming children (which I believe it also is to a degree), the fact that they would toss your children to the wolves should shock and horrify voters on the left. Leftists and conservatives disagree on a lot, but we shouldn’t disagree on this.

Vote accordingly.
