The Left Has Moved Too Far to the Left for the Left

Nothing creates a Republican quite like a Democrat policy, and the state of Texas is a really good example of this.

As RedState reported on Friday, two instances of Texas Democrat politicians lashing out at the Democrat Party for its disastrous policies have popped up.

Firstly, in the form of mayor Rolando Salinas of Eagle Pass lambasting Joe Biden on live television for effectively abandoning his city to the unending waves of illegal immigrants streaming across the southern border. Salinas has asked for help, and so far, he's gotten nothing. As Sister Toldjah wrote, at this point, Salinas is begging for anything of substance from an administration that has gone silent on the border issue:

Salinas, like other critics of Biden's open border policies, gets that in order to truly grasp the dire nature of the crisis you need to visit and not to shake hands, give back pats, and make empty promises, but to get right into the thick of it to see what residents, local leaders, and the CBP have to deal with on any given day.

But Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won't do that. Their idea of a "visit" is literally a sanitized one where they are kept far away from having to mix and mingle and see the disastrous consequences of their actions and inaction. And their idea of "supporting" border agents is to smear them and insinuate they are little different than Civil War era plantation/slave owners.

Eagle Pass isn't the only place things have gotten so bad that the Democrat leader decided to take action. McAllen, Texas, actually flipped from being a longtime Democrat stronghold to a Republican area back in 2021 after the border crisis began destroying the city. In fact, the Latino population in Texas began drifting to the right thanks to Democrat policies that even the New York Times took notice of.

But it gets worse for Democrats. As Nick Arama reported on Friday, Democrat Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is no longer a Democrat and has swapped to the Republican Party over the fact that Democrat policies are killing America:

The future of America’s great urban centers depends on the willingness of the nation’s mayors to champion law and order and practice fiscal conservatism. Our cities desperately need the genuine commitment to these principles (as opposed to the inconsistent, poll-driven commitment of many Democrats) that has long been a defining characteristic of the GOP.

The Biden administration has become such a hub of failure and corruption that many are wishing for President Joe Biden to just walk away before 2024 as they see him as a liability, not a man capable of winning elections. It got so bad that Gavin Newsom had to chastise Democrats, effectively telling them to shut up and fall in behind Biden, according to the New York Times

“The train has left the station,” Newsom said. “We’re all in. Stop talking. He’s not going anywhere. It’s time for all of us to get on the train and buck up.”

The left is running out of excuses for even its own supporters, and they're walking away, be they voters or elected officials. When blue city mayors find keeping a "D" next to their name is too risky, then you know things have gone way too far.

And they have. You can even see this problem appearing elsewhere outside of politics.

Disney, which embraced leftism openly, is dying. Bud Light, which embraced leftism, is dying. Hollywood is dead

People are walking away from the left.

This doesn't mean we should feel safe about 2024. We should definitely learn from the midterm red trickle and not underestimate the left's ability to snatch even pyrrhic victories out of the jaws of defeat.

But it can't be denied. The left is so bad that even the left can't take it.
