Gruber in 1997: Aborting Poor Children Improves American Life

Tuesday morning, as Dr. Jonathan Gruber was testifying before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform,  [mc_name name=”Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)” chamber=”house” mcid=”M001184″ ] revealed some surprising words previously written by President Obama’s trusted economic advisor. According to Massie, Gruber co-authored a paper in 1997 titled: Abortion Legalization and Child Living Circumstances: Who is the “Marginal Child?”  In it, Gruber wrote:

From these results, we estimate that the legalization of abortion saved the government over $14 billion in welfare payments through 1994.

In other words, murdering unborn poor children is good for the American economy. Gruber went on in his paper to state:

By 1993, all cohorts under age 18 were born under legalized abortion, and we estimate steady state savings of $1.6 billion per year from positive selection. (emphasis mine)

Asked by Massie what he meant by “positive selection,” Gruber refrained from answering the question directly. However, as Massie pointed out, Gruber’s inference is obvious. Life will be better for those living if we reduce the number of poor Americans born. The legacy of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger lives on.

Once again, Gruber has done what no other Democrat is capable of doing: he’s revealed the truth about how the Democrat party really views Americans. You are not worthy to be born if you might be poor and you are too stupid to know what’s good for you.
