Obama continues to politicize 9/11 anniversary

The Obama regime shamelessly issued two sets of documents setting guidelines on how to commemorate the 9/11 terrorist attacks against United States.

One set of the 9/11 commemoration guidelines, entitled “9/11 Anniversary Planning,” is for domestic audiences and highlights Obama’s continuing attempts to politicize the 9/11 anniversary as a campaign propaganda tool. The second set of 9/11 commemoration guidelines is for foreign audiences

According to the New York Times, the guidelines list what themes to underscore — and the tone to set:

  • Officials are instructed to memorialize those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and thank those in the military, law enforcement, intelligence or homeland security for their contributions since.
  • Officials are to warn that Americans must be prepared for another attack — and must be resilient in recovering from the loss.
  • Officials are cautioned that commemorations should not cast the United States as the sole victim of terrorism.
  • The tone should be shaped by a recognition that the outpouring of worldwide support for the United States in the weeks after the attacks turned to anger at some American policies adopted in the name of fighting terror — on detention, on interrogation, and the decision to invade Iraq.

The guidelines also seek to remind everyone that Osama bin Laden was killed and cite his death as a reason for officials to “minimize references to Al Qaeda”:

  • The guidelines say officials are to make the point that “Al Qaeda and its adherents have become increasingly irrelevant.”
  • The guidelines say the absence of Al Qaeda playing any significant role in the “Arab Spring” uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa should be cited as evidence that bin Laden’s organization “represents the past,” while peaceful street protesters in Egypt and Tunisia “represent the future.”

The 9/11 commemoration guidelines aimed at foreign audiences call on American officials to praise overseas partners, who have joined the worldwide effort to combat violent extremism, formerly known as the Global War On Terror:

We honor and celebrate the resilience of individuals, families, and communities on every continent, whether in New York or Nairobi, Bali or Belfast, Mumbai or Manila, or Lahore or London.

Obama should leave his political propaganda and messaging for another day and instead simply join, or actually lead, Americans in a national day of remembrance.

You know, I think instead of, or along with saying “nanny state”, we should start using “control freaks”.

I feel like the only thing this administration is good at is telling people what to do and how to do it. That’s why a word like statist fits them so well. Their just like every control-freak teacher that I ever had in college and the pre-college years. Not all teachers were like this, but they were always the elite few that thought their line of thinking was the only logic that worked.

A note to the Obama Administration. Um, how about you shut the hell up! Stop telling us how to do every little thing. Now, your telling us how we should remember 9/11? The absolute nerve of you liberals that you think you need to put a flyer out on how to celebrate something??? How about you let us take care of it for a change and stop trying to control. To me, it is hard for me not to think of how this reflects on whoever came up with this ridiculous set of guidelines. A pompous ass.

    • gjohnson

do it this way, or else!

    • hwgood

Don’t you understand that if Bam-Bam doesn’t tell us how to do it, we can’t do it correctly?
Aside from that, if we don’t all do it Bam-Bam’s way, the Left Stream Media can’t claim we did it to support Bam-Bam. And they’re having lots of trouble with His re-election.

      • YnotNOW

It is bad enough when a government tries to tell people what to do. But it is even worse when they use directives to promote a specific agenda, and try to influence public perception in their favor.

If it reall is all about Obama, and his vision for where America should be heading, then Big Brother really has won.

    • kywrite

I was thinking this exact thing when he was telling everyone what they needed to do with Hurricane Irene preparation and evacs. As Michelle Malkin said the other day, my eyes rolled so far up in my head I was afraid they’d get stuck.

Most Americans have some modicum of sense and intelligence. It makes me wonder what the people were like when he was community organizing. Easily led, at the least, I think. It would explain why he talks like this and gets so huffy when people ignore him.

    • davesinsanantonio

to tell us how to dress, and what to eat, and how to honor our dead, we would still be the poorest and most backward country in the world. How did we ever get along without them? Oh, wait . . . we were the richest, strongest country in the world. My, my.
So, why do we even listen to these chumps now? Why don’t we just start ignoring them, and maybe they will go away. Maybe in January of 13. One can only hope.

      • hotnike

Maybe, somehow we can get it done before January of 2013.

  • in_awe

Why is my “federal family” treating me like this? Next thing you know I’ll be sent to my room by Daddy Obama or Auntie Napalitano.

    • hotnike

I refuse to be a part of this “family”.

  • Tbone

Perhaps if they put them in a Neil Kinnock speech it would help.

  • Adjoran

the entire Nomenklatura needed to be advised how to deal with each and every issue and anniversary celebration.

I’m surprised Obama doesn’t have a list of the order the officials may appear from his seat – of course it’s probably not just public.

    • funwithknives

In the flick *Red October*, think back to the political officer{Zampolit} who gets his neck broken early on. So much for our “Betters.” Please: RS, if anything comes out regarding non-abiders of these edicts and any retribution, PROMISE we’ll find out here.Pretty-please?

(BTW, is it “..kla..”, or” kultura”? I’ve seen it both ways.)

  • ag8tor

gjohnson! These libs should just keep their mouths shut and let me live my life. How dare anyone try to make political points over the unbelievable suffering these victims went through. Don’t talk about Al Quida? Are you serious? These slimy bastards are responsible for most of the terrorist acts committed in the world and you don’t think they should be mentioned? “O” and his group of idiots are the ones that should not be mentioned. Never forget that in his book he wrote something to the effect that “I will stand with islam”. Don’t trust this fool to lead on anything other than trying to buy votes. They can all go to Hell before they can tell us how to remember these vicitms and the heroic ones that died trying to save them.

  • losmacs

Bloomberg telling us that no clergy are welcome at the commemoration in NYC. So, we people of faith are left soley with the pols to entertain us, without any actual morality being preached. Just what is he thinking anyway? Is God irrelevent to Hizzoner?

  • radicalrighty

of the seemingly perpetual, anniversery “celebrations” of 9/11? This while most of the country ignores the loss of life our military has suffered throught our history, and continues to suffer weekly. This indifference, not to mention the millions of dollars the 911 victims’ survivors received, vs the thousands of dollars received by our warriors’ survivors, is puzzling. And sad.

    • evas

There already is a yearly anniversary for the military: Veteran’s Day. I’m confused: don’t you see anything significant in the worst attack on CIVILIANS in our nation’s history? By Muslims, which is why Hussein is trying so hard to downplay it, and tries to equate it with other terrorist attacks world-over?
      Never forget!

  • politicalqrm

a campaign venue, but his main objective is move the focus away from reality; that we were attacked by Islamist terrorists, and make it into some global love fest.

He and Bloomberg have taken this day in which we were to honor the memory of those murdered and turned it into a world celebration.

Sorry, I lost two friends there, and I don’t give a damn about universalizing this day. It was an attack on America, pure and simple.

Can the families kindly ask Obama and Bloomberg not to come, since they were not involved in that day’s tragedy?

You know the liberals: don’t let a crisis go to waste (even if it was 10 yrs ago)
I am disgusted by these people.

    • evas

      Well said.

    • msjallen

      I totally agree.

  • jeffersonian76

the memories of all the fallen, and the perpetrators….by unloading a copious quantity of pigs’ feet, snouts and entrails….maybe some coldcuts, or even a Boar’s head….at Park 51, the site of the 9/11 mosque…..if enough people choose to participate, it could become Pork 51, an add-hock (hahaha) deli….and a one finger salute to baracko, his czars, his pedophile normalcy friends…maybe wear a beard, a turban and a muslim robe and chant, al-qaeda, al-qaeda, al-qaeda….you know, in the spirit of multi-culturism……

?The guidelines say the absence of Al Qaeda playing any significant role in the ?Arab Spring? uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa should be cited as evidence that bin Laden?s organization ?represents the past,? while peaceful street protesters in Egypt and Tunisia ?represent the future.?

The more things “change” the more they stay the same. They are burning Christians in the middle east again or don’t we speak of that one Mr. Obumber?

  • msjallen

even be at the 10th Anniversay of 9/11. He doesn’t deserve it. The time should be given to Bush or at least to someone who could lead in prayer for those who lost their friends and loved ones. O has not honor; therefore, he can’t give honor.

    • politicalqrm

He and Bloomberg were nowhere on the radar of governing on that day. I think Bush and Giuliani should be leading this anniversary memorial. O and Bloomberg should be in the audience, keep out of the planning. and should just be acknowledged as the present leaders.
      Too late, I guess.

      • funwithknives

but alas, Barry has once again tried to control our national narrative. His approval ratings should have told him his input wasn’t wanted. His view of HimSelf would simply not allow it.
My largest concern is for the really affected: i.e., Family, Friends and Associates, of the victims. They are being effectively held hostage by this posturing and to no benefit to anyone who matters. This is, in effect,*Doing Harm*, and should never be forgotten and likely for many, will not be so.
A government by ,for, and of: WE,The People ,would not talk down to it’s citizens, or their representatives, in such a fashion. It would respect rememberance in any form that is peaceful. More proof of what is fast disappearing.
AS *evas* has stated: NEVER AGAIN!

Hah! The so-called Arab Spring doesn’t need al Qaeda,. It’s got the Muslim Brotherhood, instead.
